If you enable this feature, WhatsApp should protect your IP during voice or video calls and prevent anyone from accessing your location. An important detail of the new feature is that the process of encrypting and routing the connection through WhatsApp servers can impact the quality of the call.
Still, this feature prevents personal information from being tracked, which can be very important for people who frequently communicate with unknown contacts.
