Made by Google on October 4th, the internet giant's Made by Google event has been capturing our imagination for some time now with a device that is not only omnipresent in our daily searches, but is also packed with "pure Android".
As is customary every year, on the eve of the event, numerous news stories have appeared, coming from leaks. The most notable of these leaks was Google's new line of smartphones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. With Google's official launch this Wednesday, check out what was confirmed about the device and its general specifications.
Pixel 8
As previous leaks have shown, the Pixel 8's design isn't much different from its predecessor. But the biggest change is to the Pixel 8's rear camera, which is all housed in a large oval cutout, rather than being separated into sections as seen on the Pixel 7 Pro.
The rear cameras on the Pixel 8 series feature the same black bar design that appeared on the Pixel 6. To make Pixel 8 repairs easier, Google today announced a partnership with iFixit to sell repair parts for the device (though it won't be approved for the recently announced Pixel Watch 2). And the tech giant promises that the Pixel 8 series will come with a seven-year software update warranty.
THE Google brand also highlights that the phone has a new screen that is brighter than its predecessor. But the most interesting discovery is the Pixel 8 Pro. It has a sensor that can measure the temperature of your forehead when you are sick. In addition, Google Pixel 8 The Pro features a new 48MP ultra-wide camera. The handset has a similar 12MP camera, but both share the same 50MP wide-angle camera.
Magic Editor
Additionally, both devices are powered by the new Tensor G3 chip, and the biggest change in the Pixel 8 series is the new AI integration. But the most important thing is the Magic Editor tool, which is an improved version of the previously leaked Magic Eraser. This feature allows users to make significant changes to an image by adjusting the time of day and faces in the image. You no longer have to worry about someone making a face or having a photo that you have to retake for the fifth time.
The Pro model offers several notable camera upgrades, such as front-facing selfie camera autofocus and Pro Controls. Inspired by controls typically found on DSLR cameras, the Pixel 8 Pro lets users adjust ISO, shutter speed, and enable manual focus. The phone will launch in pink, gray, and black. On the other hand, the Pro will launch in sky blue, porcelain, and black. It's worth noting that pre-orders in Brazil are not yet open.
Smart watch
Another item to be presented this time is Google's new smartwatch, the Pixel Watch 2. Very similar to the previous generation, the small changes are obviously focused on the appearance, which makes the display look smoother and the sensor has a rounder design and smaller LEDs. In addition, the device delivers IP68 resistance to water and dust.
