Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus: 200MP sensor!

The camera game of the new Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus promises to surprise. Here's what it should look like.

The Redmi Note 13 series is about to be announced by the brand, but Xiaomi has already taken the opportunity to reveal a preview of some of the phone's features. Focusing on the Pro Plus variant, several photos taken by the phone were published, which promise interesting performance in this regard.

As you would expect from this model, it theoretically has the best specifications, as it is the most advanced in the line. With that in mind, this phone should be equipped with a 200 MP Samsung HP3 Explorer Edition sensor. Keep reading and find out more about the new feature.

Absurd camera

Additionally, the device's camera features optical image stabilization to help you take less blurry photos. Another thing to note is that the brand's smartphones come with an ALD coating that reduces glare and reflections. Thus, in addition to achieving better performance in low-light conditions, the devices should be able to eliminate excessive glare and display images with more realistic colors.

The preview also includes a night photo that appears to have been taken with the model. In this sense, if the phone can really capture images of this level, it could be an interesting option for those who like to take photos with mobile devices. The new feature in the camera is four travel filters: Vivid, Negative, Forest Green and Warm Cyan. This way, users can give different textures to the photos taken with their phones. It is worth remembering that there is still speculation about the implementation of IP68 authentication in this model, for those who enjoy taking photos underwater.

Snapdragon 7s Processor

The Redmi Note 13 Pro has been spotted on the Geekbench 6 database, not only revealing the device's spec sheet details but also giving us a chance to experience the unprecedented performance of the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. The debut platform manages to achieve similar performance to the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, but it turns out that the similarities with the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 are even greater than expected.

Announcement

Shortly before its launch, Xiaomi's new advanced mid-range product was tested on Geekbench 6. The device is attracting attention for being the first device on the market equipped with the recently announced Snapdragon 7s Gen 2. Judging by the numbers, the chip is not convincing, but it should guarantee good performance with 1,012 points in single-core and 2,943 points in multi-core.

However, if these figures are confirmed, the positioning of new products could be more confusing than previously assumed. Considering the average results of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 (968 points for one core, 2,845 points for all cores) and Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 (1,094 points for single core, 2,888 points for multi-core), this is the best of the three, at least in terms of CPU.

Performance Testing

It's not yet possible to confirm the cores used in the 7s Gen 2, but it's likely that this component is essentially an overclocked 6 Gen 1 with some improvements. Geekbench's own metadata supports this theory, suggesting that the new product will be powered by the same GPU (Adreno 710) as its lower-end sibling.

Graphics performance tests are not included, but at best you should see slightly higher operating frequencies. But that does not significantly affect performance. However, as we can already see from the leaked results, using current processors brings some advantages, especially in terms of memory. Redmi Note 13 Pro comes with 16GB of RAM and runs on the LPDDR5 protocol, allowing heavier apps to run in the background without restarting, increasing the phone's lifespan.
