See which is the main US brand in cell phones. The competition is between Apple and Samsung.
Like other countries, the US smartphone market has also suffered a recession. However, in the second quarter of this year, Apple maintained the absolute number one spot with 54% of North American market share.
In total, the Cupertino company sold 14.8 million iPhones in this period, but that did not stop the manufacturer from registering a significant drop, considering the 18.5 million units sold in 2022.

Android in the US
Samsung, on the other hand, is one of the only Android manufacturers with a significant market share in the United States. The company recorded 24% of market share and 6.6 million smartphone sales in the period analyzed by Canalys.
An interesting detail from the study is that Samsung sold more smartphones than all other Android brands combined. This confirms that Korean companies are starting to gain more confidence in the US market.
Third place went to Motorola brand, which sold 2.3 million smartphones and gained 8% of market share. TCL has sales of 1.3 million units and a market share of 5%. Finally, the numbers show that Google was the only company to see growth in this period, up 59% from the same period last year. However, the search giant only holds 4% of the market in its home country.
It's important to note that these numbers do not reflect the recently launched iPhone 15 lineup. So the trend is that the upcoming survey data will show Apple's rapid growth. There are rumors that Samsung may be pushing to launch the Galaxy S24 lineup.
