The arrival of artificial intelligence is causing controversy all over the world. In fact, due to this controversy, a screenwriters' strike is taking place in the United States, where professionals in the field are fighting for their rights. The main reason for this strike is precisely the negative impact that their professions are receiving due to the rise of artificial intelligence.

But this is just one example. Despite everything, there are still professions that are not threatened with being replaced by this new technology.

Below we have separated a list of 5 of these professions that, at least for now, are not at risk of being replaced by artificial intelligence.

Pedagogy

Even with the technological advancement that has resulted in the pedagogical process being constantly updated, the essence of Pedagogy is the formation of the human being. This is the root of learning and education. Something that only people fully understand. In this sense, it is very difficult for an artificial intelligence to take on such a profession. After all, part of the learning process depends precisely on human contact, empathy and character formation. This is something that a machine is currently unable to do.

Teaching professions

Following the logic of the previous topic, it is not yet possible to replace teachers with machines. Even though it is possible to create machines with virtually unlimited access to databases, mainly thanks to the internet, the profession is more than just knowledge. Teachers do not just present rules and theories. They transmit life experiences, work with empathy and identification. It is human contact that helps in human development.

It’s not just about teaching the subjects in question, but also about showing students your worldviews. It’s about passing on social and economic issues and passing on your vision to future generations. It’s the kind of vision that can only be generated through emotional connection and life experience, something that a machine doesn’t have.

Social Services

I think the name says a lot. Social workers work with society, and this requires human interaction. Although it has its logistical elements, such as information management and systems to follow, it is a job based largely on empathy, emotions and an understanding of social individualism. A machine is incapable of understanding these things. Artificial intelligence can even be used to speed up some procedures, but it cannot be used for human service, which is the essential part of the profession.

Data Scientist and IT Professionals

Interestingly, these professionals are the ones who make technologies like artificial intelligence possible. But has technology grown so much that artificial intelligence will replace its creators? Not really. After all, this and other technologies are not perfect, and when they present flaws, a human hand is needed to fix them. In addition, the data made available to these machines is provided by people, and is based on information generated by people. Without the human element to update this data, the tendency is for artificial intelligence to become outdated over time, and eventually be replaced by some other technology.

Psychology

Psychology is a profession based precisely on human contact. A person uses their knowledge and understanding of the human mind and behavior to help someone in need. It is something beyond medical knowledge, something beyond logic. Many times, psychologists help their patients with purely emotional issues. Something beyond the understanding of a machine. The day-to-day of this profession goes beyond technical knowledge and can often be unpredictable, because people are unpredictable. Therefore, it is not possible for a psychologist to have artificial intelligence.
