In addition, the company should present its new line of smartwatches and the iOS 17, its newest update to the operating system used on cell phones.
The launch has been the talk of the town, as speculation suggests that the line will bring some changes and have a higher price compared to the lines already launched by the company. Some of the main controversies surrounding this launch include:
New charger
You new iPhones should arrive with a USB-C charger input. The company's phones use its own adapter, the Lightning. However, a change is expected to occur due to a European Union law, which requires manufacturers of phones and other devices to use the standard charger input by December of next year, ensuring that consumers save more money and reduce waste.
It's not yet clear whether this will be a global change or if the company will create a different version of the device just for use in Europe.
Spy protection
In recent years, Apple has released various security updates in response to the constant attempts by spyware to enter the operating system of mobile phones. Therefore, the expectation is that the brand's new phones will be reinforced against this type of intruder.
The latest security measure was launched by the company earlier this month after the spyware Pegasus, from the Israeli group NOS, managed to infect iPhones and iPads. This software has the power to invade devices remotely and without leaving any traces.
High price
The lineup that will be launched today could be the company's most expensive. The iPhone 15 Pro Max, for example, is being quoted to be sold from US$1,299, around R$6,416.
Design and new functions
It is also expected that all models released will feature an infinity edge, unlike previous versions such as the iPhone 14, where this only reached the Pro line models. In addition, the end of the on/off button is expected, a 48 MP camera with a periscopic lens, a titanium structure and a thinner lens.
It's also possible that the new models will be able to capture 3D photos and that they will only support eSIM in more countries.
Availability
It is already known that the first shipments of the new models should reach customers on September 22 in the US. In Brazil, the first units should arrive during the month of October, with no set date yet.
