It is no exaggeration to say that absolutely everyone accumulates countless texts and messages exchanged in conversations via WhatsApp. In many cases, there are so many messages that we even find ourselves forced to delete some of them to free up space that is being taken up on our cell phone. But what do we do when we need to recover deleted messages? Is it possible? Here we show you a step-by-step guide on how to do this.

Be careful not to lose your messages
There are several different ways to avoid losing messages or to back up deleted messages. In fact, WhatsApp recently announced that it will provide a way to save messages without having to resort to external applications. Of course, you need to take precautions such as not deleting important messages, disabling automatic deletion, and getting into the habit of always making backups.
It is recommended that you enable the automatic backup feature in WhatsApp to ensure that your messages, photos, and videos are backed up regularly. This is essential to ensure that your chats can be recovered in the event of accidental deletion. Automatic backup can be set to be performed on Google Drive (for Android users) or iCloud (for iOS users).
It’s worth noting that WhatsApp offers a message-flagging feature that lets you highlight important messages within a conversation. In short, when you press and hold a specific message, you’ll have the option to mark it with a star (on Android devices) or a favorite icon (on iOS devices). This will make it easier to identify important messages and reduce the risk of accidentally deleting them. By using this feature, you can conveniently highlight and preserve relevant messages.
When using WhatsApp and browsing through your chats, it is important to exercise caution when tapping or pressing the delete option. Therefore, make sure that you are selecting the correct chat before taking any action. It is essential to double-check before taking any action that may result in the unwanted deletion of a chat.
It is possible to recover conversations through Google Drive and your computer. We will show you the step-by-step process here.
Recovering conversations via Google Drive
Uninstall and reinstall the WhatsApp app on your device. When doing so, make sure your phone number is correct and confirm that your device is signed in to your Google account, where your backups are stored.
After reinstallation, WhatsApp will automatically detect the backup and prompt you to restore the data. Select the “Restore” option to recover your messages and media files stored on Google Drive.
Wait for the restore process to complete. Once it’s done, click “Next” and your chats will be displayed once the initialization is complete.
At this point, your chats will be restored and you can use WhatsApp normally. Media files will be restored after the chats are restored.
Retrieving conversations via computer
First, connect your Android phone to the computer and choose the “Recover from Device Storage” option.
Then click “Start” to begin analyzing all WhatsApp data on your device.
After analysis, select the messages you want to restore by viewing the available data.
Finally, click on “Recover to Device” and wait for the process to complete. Make sure to keep your device connected to the computer throughout the WhatsApp data recovery process.
