Cell phone design

In the upper left corner you'll find an LED flash and a large round module housing three cameras. One of them has a periscopic lens for long-range zoom. In fact, like other devices from the brand, the OnePlus Open will be equipped with Hasselblad's signature camera. There's a front-facing camera in the upper right corner of the internal screen, and a central hole for the selfie camera on the external side. It's basically the same Oppo Find N3 that will soon be announced in China and was recently leaked.

As for the technical specifications, the handset is expected to feature a 7.8-inch BOE OLED display on the inside, while the external display is expected to be 6.31-inch, both with high resolution. The device is expected to have a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor on board. The OnePlus is also expected to have 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of storage. As for the cameras, it is said to have a 48MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle secondary camera, and a third 64MP camera for optical zoom. Unfortunately, it is not clear what the resolution of the front-facing camera is.

Price and availability

The device will be presented in the United States, with sales scheduled for October 19, and will cost US$ 1,700, or approximately R$ 8,600. It will also be sold in parts of Europe.

Finally, the official price of the OnePlus Open is US$ 1,699 (around R$ 8,583 in direct terms), therefore cheaper compared to US$ 1,799 (~R$ 9,088) of Galaxy Z Fold 5. It was also said that the official announcement would be made on October 19 in European countries. Although this information has not yet been confirmed, the brand has been posting teasers of the device on social media for a few days now, suggesting that its launch is imminent. There is still about a week to go until the scheduled launch date of the OnePlus Open, so we will probably see a series of new leaks about the smartphone in the coming days. In addition, the brand itself should gradually reveal more details about the device through official teasers.

OnePlus 12

In addition to the foldable phone, the OnePlus 12 is expected to be announced in the coming weeks, but recent rumors have revealed what the device's camera setup will look like. According to information from leaker Digital Chat Station, the device may feature Sony's new main sensor. This is the Sony IMX966, which offers a maximum resolution of 50MP, dimensions of 1/1.4 inches, and is used in the OnePlus 12 with an f/1.7 aperture lens.

According to previous rumors published by the same source, this component should offer similar performance to the IMX989 found in models such as the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. In other words, the IMX966 brings a new dual-sensor layer technology that can offset the performance advantage offered by the larger 1-inch dimension of the IMX989.

In practice, this increases the sensitivity of the component and is useful, for example, in low-light scenes. The OnePlus 12's camera is also said to feature Hasselblad-signed components, as well as support for optical image stabilization (OIS). The image processing performance of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor optimizes the results more efficiently.
