OnePlus launched its first foldable smartphone this week. The model is set to compete with devices from Xiaomi and Samsung, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 and the Galaxy Z Fold 5, respectively. When closed, these phones are practically the same size as a traditional smartphone. When opened, they become a kind of tablet.
The OnePlus Open launched by OnePlus has a 7.82-inch screen, a 48 MP triple camera, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and 16 GB of RAM, delivering great performance to users, especially in heavier tasks. The cell phone has not yet officially arrived in Brazil, but it was launched in India, North America and Europe, costing around US$1,699, around R$1,600.

OnePlus Open
The manufacturer presented this Thursday (19) the new foldable cell phone on the market, being the first of the brand. It arrives with incredible specifications and modern design, to compete with other foldable cell phones already on sale, such as Galaxy Z Fold 5, Samsung's main bet for this year.
The phone was announced in black and green and has a glass or vegan leather finish. This device also stands out for its resistant structure and its weight, of only 232 grams, being one of the thinnest in the category. It has an even lighter body than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
The rear of the device is made up of a circular camera module with three sensors. It draws attention for maintaining the alert slider, which is a trademark among the brand's cell phones.
This phone has a 7.82-inch AMOLED LTPO internal display with 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The external display is a 6.31-inch Super AMOLED LTPO with a 120Hz refresh rate. Both displays have a maximum brightness of 2,800 nits.
The OnePlus Open is equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and comes with two storage options, the largest of which has 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal storage. The RAM can be expanded up to 28 GB. This phone also features a Dolby Vision sound system, ensuring greater immersion in multimedia content.
It comes out of the box with Android 13 under the OxygenOS 13.2 interface, adapted with features for use in multitasking and windowed mode. OnePlus guarantees up to four years of system updates and an extra year of security updates.
The cell phone comes with a fingerprint reader on the side, has 5G connection, dual-SIM, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and NFC, used for contactless payments. Regarding the battery, this model has a capacity of 4,805 mAh, with 67 W fast charging.
Durability
The structure of this phone is composed of a mechanism with eight folding points, with titanium alloy and carbon fiber. According to OnePlus, this composition supports up to 1 million folds, making it very durable. To reduce the visibility of the screen division, the company adopted a teardrop-shaped hinge.
Availability
This phone is available in India, North America and Europe. It costs US$1,699, which is around R$8,600 in direct conversion and without the addition of Brazilian taxes.
