Check out the prices of the iPhone 14 after Apple's latest launch. Older phones are cheaper.
With the launch of the iPhone 15 last Tuesday (12), Apple Brazil began to reduce the price of the previous generation of cell phones, as was the case with the iPhone 14. Depending on the version of the device and the storage capacity, the value will be even lower than that recommended by the manufacturer. The reduction rate in the national market can reach almost 25%.
The price reductions that usually occur when new versions of the iPhone are announced are a good opportunity for those interested in buying a new phone without spending a lot of money. With the iPhone 14, users now have a smartphone running the latest version of iOS, guaranteed to receive updates for years to come.
Is it still worth it?
The iPhone 14, released in September 2022, uses the A15 Bionic chip in the standard and Plus models, and has 6GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The 14 Pro and Pro Max are equipped with the more powerful A16 Bionic chip and work with 6GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage.
Price drops
When it hit stores last year, the 128GB iPhone 14 cost R$7,599 for the “base” version. It went up to R$10,999 for the 512GB model. Prices for the Plus version started at R$8,599. With the announcement of the iPhone 15, Apple Brazil reduced the price of the previous generation in its online store.
For example, the 128GB iPhone 14 currently costs R$5,999, down R$1,600 or R$211,300 since its debut, while the 512GB version costs R$8,299, down R$2,300. The same goes for the iPhone 14 Plus, where the price of the 128GB version has seen the biggest discount compared to the previous series to date, dropping from R$8,599 to R$6,499, or R$24,41,300. Continuing with the 14 Plus version, the new prices are R$ 7,299 (previously R$ 9,599) for the 256GB model and R$ 8,799 (previously R$ 11,599) for the 512GB phone. It is important to note that the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are no longer listed in the official Apple store, giving way to the more advanced iPhone 15 models.
And in retail chains?
The prices listed above are the manufacturer's recommended prices, i.e. the prices charged by Apple in its official store. They do not necessarily represent general market prices and are intended only as a guide. Therefore, the retail price could be even lower.
The standard version of iPhone 14 (128GB) starts at R$4,999, which is R$1,000 cheaper than the brand's official price. The iPhone 14 Plus (128GB) starts at R$5,999, a difference of R$1,300 compared to the manufacturer's recommendation. In addition, the iPhone 14 Pro (128GB) starts at R$4,706, which is strangely cheaper than the standard version of this series. When it was launched in 2022, it cost R$9,499. Finally, the iPhone 14 Pro Max (128GB) was priced at R$10,499 and is now around R$7,499.
