The OnePlus Open model was presented this Thursday (19), being the first foldable cell phone from the Chinese manufacturer, which bets on high quality cameras and a body even lighter than the iPhone 15 Pro Max. This new cell phone is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of internal memory.

The internal and external displays are AMOLED LTPO, the larger one being 7.82 inches and the external one being 6.31 inches, both with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and a maximum brightness of 2,800 nits. The highlight of this cell phone is its cameras, with Hasselblad certification. The main sensor has 48 MP, the internal front sensor has 20 MP and the external sensor has 32 MP.

OnePlus Open

OnePlus presented this Thursday (19), the OnePlus Open, the brand's first foldable cell phone. The model arrives with modern specifications and design, to compete with other foldable cell phones on the market, such as the Galaxy Z Fold 5, from South Korean Samsung.

It was announced in black and green, and has a glass or vegan leather finish, respectively. In addition, this cell phone stands out for its resistant structure and its weight, of only 232 grams, being one of the thinnest in the foldable category.

It also draws attention for maintaining the traditional alert slider, a trademark of the manufacturer's design within the Android universe. The back of this cell phone is made up of a circular camera module with three sensors.

The phone has a 7.82-inch AMOLED LTPO internal screen with 2K resolution and support for a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The external screen is a 6.31-inch Super AMOLED LTPO, also with a rate of 120 Hz. Both have a maximum brightness of 2,800 nits.

It comes equipped with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, which works with two storage versions. It is possible to expand the RAM memory up to 28 GB. It also has a Dolby Vision sound system, for greater immersion in multimedia content.

This cell phone was announced with a fingerprint reader integrated on the side, has 5G connection, is dual-SIM, has Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3 and has NFC, for contactless payments. The battery of this device has a capacity of 4,805 mAh, with fast charging of 67 W.

It comes out of the factory with Android 13 under the OxygenOS 13.2 interface adapted with features for use in multitasking and windowed mode. The manufacturer guarantees four years of operating system updates and an extra year of security updates.

Durability

The structure of this cell phone is composed of a mechanism with eight folding points with titanium alloy and carbon fiber. According to the manufacturer, the composition supports up to 1 million folds. To reduce the visibility of the screen division, the company adopted a teardrop-shaped hinge.

The OnePlus Open weighs just 232 grams, making it lighter than top-of-the-line phones in a traditional format, such as the iPhone 15 Pro Max, released in September.

The phone was launched in India, North America and Europe, costing US$1,699, around R$8,600 in direct conversion, excluding taxes.
