The back of the G53 is entirely plastic, but it has an attractive matte finish. The frame is more squared off than before. In terms of size, this product has a 6.5-inch screen with HD+ resolution. The colors on the screen do not disappoint, but for watching series you will need images with fewer pixels than the previous ones. This may be due to the lack of HDR to complement this simple panel.
Camera
The Moto G53's main sensor is 50MP. Color accuracy is good, but Motorola needs to improve it, as this camera doesn't live up to expectations. The level of detail in object photos is good, but HDR doesn't work as well when photographing the sky. What may disappoint those who like to take group photos is that there is no dedicated sensor for taking photos in ultra-wide mode. This feature cannot be used with software. For macro mode images, the 2MP sensor has good saturation, but lacks sharpness, making this option unnecessary.
The Moto G53's front camera is 8MP. The resolution leaves something to be desired in terms of both processing and resolution. But for those who want a basic lens, the sensor may not disappoint.
Configuration and performance
In terms of performance, the Moto G53 uses the Snapdragon 480+ platform as its “brain”. This chipset has not been released since Qualcomm announced it in 2021 and the manufacturer used it in the Moto G62 5G. The device also comes with 4 GB of RAM that is added via “RAM Boost” for better performance. In practice, you can use the device without any problems in most tasks, even the most demanding ones that put a bit of strain on the chip. In short, its performance meets your expectations.
Battery and charging
The Moto G53 is equipped with the same 5000mAh battery as its predecessor. During testing, when playing Netflix content for 3 hours (screen brightness of 50%), the smartphone consumed 21% of its charge. This means that you will need to use it for more than 14 hours before the battery can be recharged.
