Check out the list of cell phones on which WhatsApp will stop working. The shutdown is expected to begin on November 1st.

Cell phones that will no longer support WhatsApp will undergo a significant change starting November 1st. The world's most popular messaging app is preparing to stop supporting different smartphone models. The change is the result of a crucial update to the service that will modify the minimum requirements for its operation. As a result, users of these devices will need to update their phones if they want to continue using the messenger.

The WhatsApp update will further impact phones using older operating systems in November, and will no longer be compatible with devices running Android 4.1 or 4.4. Only those using Android 5.0 or newer will be able to continue using the app.

Update

The news raises a red flag for users of older phones. The update from WhatsApp has the potential to affect the user experience, who will need to adapt to new system requirements or consider replacing their phones. Therefore, it is essential that all affected users are aware of the changes and find a solution to ensure that the application continues to be used in their routines.

In the case of cell phones from Apple, only iPhones running iOS 12 or newer systems will be compatible with the application, leaving older editions out. This fact is not new, as it happens annually, with each new update.

Announcement

The change will impact around 11,300 phones currently on the market, meaning a small number of users will have to buy new phones or look for new alternatives to replace WhatsApp.

Cell phones that will lose WhatsApp

Some of the phone models that will no longer support WhatsApp from November 1 include Huawei Ascend G740, Huawei Ascend D2, iPhone 6S, iPhone SE, iPhone 6S Plus, and some other models. from Samsung, Sony, LG and ZTE.

These users will have to look for other options for devices or messaging apps if they want to continue communicating in an easy and practical way, since WhatsApp allows sending voice and text messages, as well as videos, photos, documents and making calls and even payments, which makes users' lives much easier.

Some models have already lost support in July, which was not explained by the company, since the change was expected to happen in October, starting on the 23rd. In addition, other cell phones started to lose support in August and September, which was expected by users, since the platform sends a message to these people informing them about the update.
