Samsung has launched the Repara Contigo program in Brazil. This program allows users to carry out simple repairs at home more independently. The goal is to extend the lifespan of the brand's phones by reducing maintenance costs for items that are easy to replace.
This initiative can reduce the amount of electronic luxury and help the environment. Keep reading and understand how the Korean brand's project will be carried out.
Repair program
Samsung has expanded its repair program to Brazil and users can now purchase original parts to replace them. In addition to the details, the brand has published a video that shows each step of the repair and allows you to replace the screen, back cover and USB-C port.
Currently, the repair kit, which also includes the necessary tools, is only available for Galaxy S20, S21 and S22. The screen of the Galaxy S22 Ultra costs R$ 1,538.15, while the basic S20 costs R$ 1,345.05.
There are important new developments coming from the market for those who feel that they can gradually fix their phones at home. All of this is not out of love for users, but due to pressure from the European Union, which also made the iPhone launch with USB-C. The standard has been in force since March of this year, but some brands are ahead of the curve, Samsung being one of them.
Replacing parts will become easier in some models from 2022 onwards, and the Korean brand already has its own revision program, which arrived in Brazil this week.
Samsung starts repairing high-end products
This is where Samsung will begin selling the screens, back covers and charging ports of the Galaxy S20, S21 and S22 directly to consumers. The South Korean company sold kits that, in addition to the original components, included tools to correctly carry out the repair and distributed videos guiding each step.
For example, the price of the Galaxy S20 display is R$ 1,345.05, but the tape that seals the device to protect it from water and dust costs R$ 30.55. The S22 display kit costs R$ 1,091.42, while the Ultra model costs R$ 1,538.15. The program has additional steps aimed at independent Samsung repairers who are interested in accessing original device parts and information that qualifies them to perform the work. In this case, the content and components refer to cell phones, TVs and household appliances. But if you intend to repair your device at home, check out some tips below.
Appropriate equipment available
This tip is very important because many people think that it is possible to use a kitchen knife or other similar tools when making the home maintenance. However, these types of devices can cause more damage to your device and are more difficult and expensive to repair later. The good news is that when you buy the right part, it will last a long time. Therefore, you will always have the necessary tools at your disposal. This way, you won’t have to worry about it for a long time.
Use safety equipment
Another important recommendation is to use latex gloves when handling the material. This will prevent sweat or dust from your hands from reaching the pieces and damaging them. Also, don't forget to remove any rings, watches, and other accessories you may be wearing. We also recommend wearing safety glasses in this case, as small pieces can get into your eyes.
Arrange the pieces strategically
When unpacking a device, it’s important to remember which components you removed or to arrange them strategically. They should then be put back in their original location. So figure out the best way to rearrange everything to avoid confusion.
