Models are foldable and are now available for sale on the manufacturer's website.
Samsung recently launched its new foldable phones at an event held in South Korea. Both models are now available for pre-order on Samsung's website and are expected to start shipping to buyers on the 11th of this month.
In addition to cell phones, the brand also launched its new line of smartwatches and tablets. Among the cell phone models are the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which have more powerful processors than the brand's previous models, the Galaxy Z Fold 4 and the Galaxy Z Flip 4.
The manufacturer has focused on this type of foldable device, which is on the rise, and has launched two devices to compete with the iPhone 15, which is expected to be released soon. One problem, however, could be the price of the two phones. Both models arrive in Brazil with higher prices than the other models of the brand itself and even the iPhone.

Launch
Samsung held the event Galaxy Unpacked, on July 26, to announce its new line of devices. On the occasion, the following were presented: new cell phones, the Galaxy Tab S9 line of tablets and the Galaxy Watch 6 line of smartwatches.
Galaxy Z Flip 5
The model features a 3.4-inch external screen, which is about 1.78 times larger than the Z Flip 4. The internal screen is 6.7 inches, with Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, with Full HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
The device also received updates to its hinge, which allows the device to close better, reducing the space between the screens when it is closed, which is what happens with its predecessor.
It has a satisfactory set of cameras, however, with the same configurations as the Z Flip 4. The model has two rear cameras, a main 12 MP, with an aperture of f/1.8 and an ultrawide 12 MP and an aperture of f/2.2. The front camera of this cell phone is wide and has 10 MP, with an aperture of f/2.2.
It comes equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 2 processor, which is about 35% more valuable than the processor used in the Z Flip 4. It has 8 GB of RAM, which ensures better fluidity in navigation, allowing use without crashes.
The battery of this device is 3,700 mAh, which combined with the new processor should consume less energy, allowing the device to spend more time away from the charger.
THE Galaxy Z Flip 5 It has Android 13, with four updates, going up to Android 17. It is also compatible with 5G, and is available on its manufacturer's website for prices starting at R$7,799.00.
Galaxy Z Fold 5
This smartphone has a 7.6-inch internal screen and a 6.2-inch external screen, with Dynamic AMOLED 2X technology, with a resolution of 1812×2176 pixels and a refresh rate of 12 Hz. The model also had improvements in its hinge, which also reduces the gap between the two screens when they are closed.
This model also has IPX8 certification, which guarantees that the device can be submerged in up to 1.5 m of fresh water for up to 30 minutes.
The model features the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, with 12 GB of RAM, with 512 GB or 1 TB of internal storage, allowing for smoother, more fluid use.
It has three rear cameras. A 50 MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture, a 10 MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 12 MP ultrawide lens with f/2.2 aperture. The front camera on the external screen is 10 MP with f/2.2 aperture, and the one on the internal screen is 4 MP with f/1.8 aperture.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 has a 4,400 mAh battery, which according to Samsung, is capable of working for up to 73 hours playing music or up to 21 hours playing videos. Also according to the manufacturer, it is possible to charge 50% of this cell phone's battery in up to 30 minutes, using a 25 W charger, which comes with the device.
The model also comes with Android 13 and comes with a digital pen, the S Pen Fold Edition, which is specific to the device. It is also compatible with 5G, and is available on the manufacturer's website for prices starting at R$12,419.00.
Comparison with other models
Compared to other models like the Galaxy S23 from Samsung or with the iPhone 14, Apple's current model, Samsung's launches have much higher values.
The Galaxy S23, for example, can be found for prices starting at R$1,499.00, while the iPhone 14 can be purchased for prices starting at R$1,999.00. In this case, it is up to the consumer to decide whether or not Samsung's new models are worth the price charged.
