Fairphone 5

The Fairphone 5, like other models from the brand, is sustainable and allows users to repair the device themselves, which is made with easily removable parts. It will have five updates starting from Android 13 and up to ten years of security updates.

It comes with a 6.46-inch OLED display and a 90Hz refresh rate. It is equipped with the processor Qualcomm's QCM 6490, which is equivalent to the Snapdragon 778G, and has 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal storage, which can be expanded with a memory card up to 2 TB.

The cell phone supports 5G, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi 6E, dual-SIM and fingerprint reader, as well as IP55 certification and a 50 MP main camera. The model's front camera also has 50 MP, and like the rear cameras, it is capable of recording 4K videos. The model's battery has 4,200 mAh, which can be recharged in 50% in 20 minutes, with the 30 W charger that comes with the device.

According to the manufacturer, the battery It supports approximately one thousand recharge cycles, more or less three years, starting to present problems after this period. If necessary, the user can easily replace it, since the back cover and battery are removable and easy to replace.

The cell phone has a simple design, being made with aluminum, nickel, tin, zinc and recycled plastic parts.

In addition to its sustainable aspect, the model also stands out for its longevity. It is possible to use the device with the latest version of Android for at least 5 years. With some brands, this is not possible. Motorola updates the system of its devices every year. Samsung updates its smartphones for four years, and Apple promises five years of updates to its operating system.
