Find out what to expect from the new OnePlus Open. It should hit the market later this month.
The OnePlus Open is already scheduled to launch in October, but news about the device continues to trickle out. The latest leaked renders show a huge camera island and different angles of the device when opened.
The photos show a green and black device and the round camera island on the back that made the OnePlus 11 famous. In addition, the phone should be equipped with two 48-megapixel cameras, one for wide-angle photos and another for ultra-wide-angle photos. There will also be a 64-megapixel camera with 3x optical zoom. The internal screen is a 7.8-inch OLED display from BOE. Read on and check out more leaked details about the OnePlus.
Cell phone appearance and performance
On the outside, the OnePlus mobile It features a 6.31-inch display, which is wider than a standard flip phone and almost looks like a traditional phone. Internally, the OnePlus Open is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, along with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Larger storage options may be available at launch, but that has not been confirmed by the company yet.
The device is expected to be officially announced on October 19, with versions with greater storage starting at over US$1,700 (R$8,664).
Official teaser
On Tuesday (10), the device also received an official teaser on the company's X (Twitter), hinting at its imminent launch. It is worth remembering that OPPO and Vivo have already launched foldable devices, but OnePlus has not yet launched any. However, the Chinese manufacturer demonstrates that this will change with the OnePlus Open this year. As mentioned earlier, it will be a rebranded version of the OPPO Find N3. This time, OnePlus has released an official teaser for the foldable device, confirming that it will be launched soon.
The phone's teaser in a post on X (or Twitter, if you prefer) speaks volumes about the true OnePlus experience. The silhouette of the device confirms that it's a foldable, and the "Coming soon" description indicates that it will indeed carry the product name OnePlus Open. As mentioned earlier, this is a rebranded version of the OPPO Find N3, which recently passed through Geekbench and was spotted in the hands of Indian actress Anushka Sharma.
Apparently, the OnePlus Open will be the global version of OPPO's foldable device and will likely be limited to the Chinese market. Previously, multiple leaks mentioned that the OnePlus Open will be officially announced in October. For power, a 4,800-mAh battery unit and support for 67W fast charging are expected.
This information was confirmed by OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau. The company's new foldable device was shown in an unboxing video, revealing several details. In an email to The Verge, OnePlus confirmed that it and sister company OPPO will launch the same foldable device under different names. As part of the promotion, Pete Lau participated in the OnePlus Open unboxing on the Unbox Therapy channel. He revealed that the Chinese manufacturer has filed more than 35 patents related to the device's hinge mechanism.
