End-to-end encryption

The App had already created end-to-end verification technology some time ago. According to the WhatsApp, the feature adds a new trust verification mode to prevent malware from connecting to a user's account. This prevents, for example, access to conversations and the exchange of information through messengers. This occurs with the function generating different security tokens, which verify that the server trying to connect to WhatsApp is in fact the user's account owner.

Regarding another feature, Device Check, WhatsApp also warns that unofficial versions of the messenger present a high risk of infection by malware that prevents full encryption. This practice violates the app's terms of use and can infect your phone with various types of viruses, including those that steals accounts.

New feature

WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature to its messaging app. Users can now lock more personal chats or groups with a password, Face ID or fingerprint.

Meta, the company responsible for Whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram and Threads, announced the update through its status tool on Thursday (6). When a conversation is hidden, the content of the message and the name of the contact will not be displayed in the notification.

When this feature is enabled, the migrated chat becomes invisible on the WhatsApp home screen. The new model also automatically hides the content of that conversation in notifications, according to the app's team.

This is a great point for individuals who need to share their phone with a family member or friend. Even better for those times when someone grabs your phone just as a private message arrives.

The company also said it is studying adding more options to the tool in the coming months, including features on additional devices. In addition to creating a specific and personalized password for each conversation that is different from the one used on cell phones.

It is worth remembering that blocked conversations will only be hidden on the device, not on other devices. In other words, if your login is on your computer or laptop, it will no longer be hidden.
