Red Magic 8
Nubia has launched global versions of its Red Magic 8 Pro and 8 Pro+ smartphones, which were seen in the Chinese market in late 2022, but with some changes to the battery. But unfortunately, Brazil is out of the list.
The changes start with the name of the device. The Red Magic 8 Pro is called “Matte” because of its color and comes with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The 8 Pro+ model has changed to “Void” and has 16GB of storage, 512GB of storage and the same transparent back. Both international versions have a 6000mAh battery and 65W charging, which is another change from the model launched in China. In the Asian country, the first model has a 6000mAh battery and 80W charging, while the 8 Pro+ has a smaller battery (5000mAh) but faster charging (165W).
Furthermore, the main features of the line are the same as the Chinese version: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor and 6.8-inch AMOLED screen with 120 Hz refresh rate and 960 Hz touch sampling frequency.
Price and release forecasts
Both versions sold internationally will be available in select markets starting February 2, but as mentioned, Brazil is not on the list. The phone is coming to Latin America, but at the moment it is only available in Mexico, Peru and Chile.
The global version of the Red Magic 8 Pro (matte) costs US$$ 649 (R$3,340 converted directly). The Void (8 Pro+) model, on the other hand, costs US$$ 800 (R$4,111). Therefore, it will be one of the cheapest smartphones with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
