How to create a location on Instagram

It is also possible to create a location that does not yet exist. on Instagram. To do this, you must first log into your account. from Facebook. There is no way to do this through Instagram itself, but since the two networks are integrated, it is possible to create the Facebook location and use it on Instagram.

It is not possible to do this procedure using the browser, since you need to use the phone's GPS. Therefore, make sure that the device's location is activated. To do this:

1 – Click on the option “What are you thinking about?”

Log into your Facebook account, and in the app feed, click on “What’s on your mind?”;

2 – Look for the “Check-in” option

In the options available on the screen that opened after the previous step, look for Check-in;

3 – Scroll down and find the option “Add a new location”;

4 – Fill in the spaces with the name of the location and the desired address;

5 – Choose the city;

If you prefer, type the name of the city in the available field and find it;

6 – Check the company’s location on the map and then click save;

7 – Click on “Save custom location”.

On your profile, you can see the location you created. If you tap on the post, a page will open where you can enter other information such as photos, categories, websites, and more. It is important to remember that the location you created on Facebook will not always be immediately available at the time of posting. It may take some time for it to be approved and available. on Instagram.

How to put the location in the post

Now that the location has been created, you can add it to a social media post using the geolocation feature. To do this:

  1. Tap the Instagram icon to add a new post;
  2. Choose the image or video to be published and tap the blue arrow to advance;
  3. Edit as you wish and tap the blue arrow again to go to the next step;
  4. Click on “Add location”;
  5. Find the address. You can type or search among the locations that appear on the screen to find the one you created;
  6. After that, just publish your post, with the location of your business.
