Find out which cell phone was the most sought-after in August of this year. Samsung remains the top-ranked smartphone in the country!

It's no secret that Samsung is Brazil's most sought-after cell phone manufacturer, and this August was no exception. On the list of the most sought-after cell phones in the country in August, the South Korean manufacturer ranked ninth. However, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12s was the most searched-for device of the month. This information comes from a survey by the Buscapé platform. This Xiaomi model is widely sold, but it's not part of the company's official portfolio.

The Galaxy A54 was the second most searched phone on the platform. Next comes the Poco X5 5G, also from Xiaomi, the iPhone 13, and the Galaxy S22. The data collected by Buscapé is relevant, as the company attracts 617 million visits and serves around 23 million consumers per month.

Most wanted cell phones in August

The list of the 20 most searched cell phones in Brazil in August shows two interesting questions: the fight between Samsung and Xiaomi and the growth in demand for cell phones with 5G connection.

While Samsung has nine phones on the list, Xiaomi has eight devices, divided between the Redmi and Poco lines. Apple, in turn, appears with three phones on the list: the iPhone 13, iPhone 14, and iPhone 11, which appear in 13th and 14th positions, respectively.

Xiaomi's strong presence on the list reflects the growth of Chinese manufacturers in the mid-range and premium smartphone segment in the country. Galaxy S22, Samsung's main cell phone last year, was the sixth most sought-after model.

The list features 13 phones with 5G connectivity. The iPhone 11 lacks this network support. The strong presence of 5G phones in the top 20 shows that the Brazilian public is also more interested in accelerating the migration to the new technology.
