Telegram is now allowing creators to introduce a paid monthly subscription model called “Stars Subscription.” This new feature allows creators to set up invite links for users to access their channels in exchange for a monthly payment in Stars, Telegram’s digital currency. The aim is to provide creators with a new way to monetize exclusive content, such as live streams and early access to media.

When setting the price for extra material, channel owners can choose to convert stars into Toncoin cryptocurrency rewards or subsidized in-app ads.

In addition to subscriptions, Telegram has introduced the “Stars as Reactions” feature, which allows users to support their favorite creators by sending them stars. Creators receive 100% from these contributions, with the option to convert them as they wish.

Each post can be ranked by the users who contributed the most, but creators have the freedom to choose not to disclose the names of their biggest donors. This feature is a way to encourage participation and continued support within the platform.

Additional Improvements and New Features

In addition to the new monetization tools, Telegram has also introduced other significant improvements. The platform now allows paid posts to be managed by admin bots in Telegram Business channels and profiles. This update opens up new possibilities for channel automation and business management within Telegram, offering administrators more flexibility and control. With this, the platform aims to facilitate the operation and efficiency of business profiles and automated channels.

Another new feature is the ability to make channels more like groups, allowing admins to post with their own profiles, displaying their name and photo. This feature is optional and disabled by default, requiring admins to enable the setting in the channel options. This change aims to provide a more personal and direct way for admins and channel members to interact.

In addition to these improvements, Telegram now offers improved functionality on iOS, allowing documents in formats such as PDF, XLS, and DOCX to be opened in separate browser tabs. This makes it easier to switch between files and messages, improving the user experience. All of these updates are being rolled out gradually to users through an app update.

Progress in updates

Telegram’s recent updates represent a significant step forward for both content creators and users of the platform. The introduction of new monetization tools and improvements to existing features underscore Telegram’s commitment to providing a dynamic environment that adapts to the needs of its users.

New subscription options and support for star payments offer creators expanded opportunities to generate revenue, while functional improvements promise a smoother and more efficient user experience. With these innovations, Telegram reinforces its position as a leading digital communication and monetization platform.
