Understand the changes that will come with the launch of Apple's newest device. Learn more about the iPhone 15.
New leaks have surfaced about Apple's upcoming iPhone 15 lineup. This isn't the first time the phone's details have been unofficially leaked. In fact, this has happened several times since the beginning of the year, and now one of the most surprising rumors has come to light.
According to Apple Insider's Andrew O'Hara, Apple is planning to ditch the iPhone 15 Pro Max branding and replace it with the "iPhone 15 Ultra." Read on to learn more about the change.

iPhone 15 Ultra
O'Hara said multiple sources have told him Apple will indeed use the iPhone 15 Ultra name for a larger pro-sized phone. The expert said this is a negative initial rumor, as most are already calling the device the iPhone 15 Pro Max, that is, the change may confuse users at the time of purchase.
In late 2022, all major leakers said that the iPhone 15 Pro Max would be rebranded as Ultra, but the rumor seems to be increasingly true as the device's launch approaches. The reason for the change is that Apple wants to open another premium tier at a higher price point.
This rumor has been circulating for quite some time, however, sources have assured that the rebranding has been scrapped, so it is really surprising to see this information come back with the launch so close.
Changes in the device
First, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is markedly different from the iPhone 15 Pro in that it will ship with Apple’s first optical zoom camera. A 10x periscope lens will deliver much higher-quality zoomed images, putting it on par with Android competitors that have been offering zoom lenses of this quality for years. It will also be compatible with the brand’s top-tier Apple Watch Ultra.
However, these improvements come at a literal cost. Apple is expected to increase the price of the iPhone 15 Pro Max/Ultra by $1,200, with models starting at $1,299 (R$6,304, in direct conversion, excluding taxes). This will be the company's biggest price increase in the US and is expected to be repeated worldwide. It remains to be seen whether the price tag is justified by the complete rebranding.
Unfortunately, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Ultra are expected to be identical, except for the optical zoom camera. Rumors suggest that it will also be in the iPhone 16 Pro in 2024. Both feature a new titanium chassis, ultra-thin details, the latest generation A17 chip, and a UWB port. In addition, they also deliver Wi-Fi 6E, Thunderbolt 4 data speeds, and USB-C, updated with faster charging.
But will this be enough to convince iPhone owners to upgrade, or will it drive big-screen fans to the cheaper iPhone 15 Plus? That answer will only be given after the devices are launched in September. annual event Apple's presentation of new models.
For fans, all that remains is to wait to compare the devices and decide which one is more worthwhile.
