5G's data transmission capacity is more advanced and covers several cities in the country.
With the constant advancement of technology, we are increasingly connected to the internet, right? And with so many social networks, news channels, messaging, movie and music apps, and much more, we need mobile networks with greater speed and coverage to handle so many applications and websites. And one alternative that could be the solution to put an end to connection problems is 5G, which promises higher connection and data download speeds, and can be activated on Android phones. Find out now how 5G works and how you can activate it!
The 5G
One of the main benefits of 5G is the connection and data download speed, between 600 Mb/s and 2 Gb/s, which is faster than 4G, still widely used in Brazil, covering more than 90% of the country's municipalities. However, the fifth generation of mobile networks has reached several cities and serves at least 184 municipalities in the country.
A device with 4G It takes up to 54 milliseconds to process a 1 Gigabyte video download. With 5G, the expectation is that this interval will be between 1 and 2 milliseconds to process up to 20 Gigabytes, a speed up to 20 times faster. This greater speed of 5G has already made many users consider giving up fixed internet at home.
Another difference is the number of devices that can be connected. In 4G, the coverage is 10 thousand devices per kilometer, while in 5G, the network can have up to 1 million devices per kilometer.
In Brazil, the main telephone operators – Claro, TIM and Vivo – already offer different packages with this connection for consumers, who have access to data, access to streaming services, music, free shipping on purchases and more. Prices vary according to the package chosen and are available between R$$52.99 and R$$142.00 per month.
In the country, Brasília was the first city to offer 5G on a large scale, in July last year, completing one year of operation, with more than 10 million users.
How to activate on Android devices
- Access the settings menu cell phone and click on “Connections”;
- Select the “Mobile networks” option;
- Tap “Band Selection” and choose from the available networks;
- Click on the 5G option.
How to disable
If you don't have a 5G chip yet, your smartphone may be consuming battery while searching for the connection frequency. If this is the case, you can disable it by selecting another connection, such as 2G, 3G or 4G.
- Access the cell phone settings menu and click on “Connections”;
- Select the “Mobile networks” option;
- Tap “Band Selection” and choose the desired network connection.
Due to the different versions of the Android system, the settings to enable or disable 5G internet may vary slightly. However, in all versions, the option to change will be centralized in “Network and Internet”.
