Android smartphone manufacturers and their confusing update policies are often a headache for users. Unfortunately, there are always negative headlines surrounding the release of a new Android version.

Xiaomi is now looking to compete with Samsung and guarantee a longer update period, starting with the Xiaomi 13T and 13T Pro. The Chinese manufacturer beat Google with its Pixel smartphones (which only guarantee new versions of Android for three years) with four updates. Read on to learn more about this change.

More updates

There are already signs that Xiaomi would change its policy leaving China. The K60 Ultra and Mix Fold 3 were introduced on this system in their home country. Both devices will receive four more OS updates. The downside is that the Xiaomi 13 Ultra is not included in any of the news tweets. There is currently no word on whether other models will receive updates later or whether the Ultra will not be included like the regular 13T and 13T Pros. At least it is a first step in the right direction and will please those interested in the Xiaomi 13T series.

Launch of 13T devices

Xiaomi is set to hold a new product launch event in Berlin this week. Among the new products, the Chinese company will highlight the Xiaomi 13T and Mi 13T Pro. These products now have affordable prices and memory options exposed by the recent leak.

The leaker was Ishan Agarwal, known as @ishanagarwal24 on Twitter (X). He shared some interesting information about the two luxury models in a post that revealed what their value for money will be. Apparently, the Xiaomi 13T It should be revealed with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage for the price of 649 euros (around R$ 3,360), and there may be other variants that will cost more.

Announcement

The Xiaomi 13T Pro may be available in two variants – the original with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal space, costing 799 euros, or around R$4,140 without national taxes. The most expensive variant of this model costs 999 euros, or around R$5,170 in direct conversion, and has 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of internal storage.

What can we expect from the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro?

The design of the Xiaomi 13T and Xiaomi 13T Pro should be very similar to that of the Redmi K60 Ultra, with which they share many technical specifications. Therefore, both should have a 6.67-inch screen with AMOLED technology, 1.5K resolution and a refresh rate of 144Hz.

Additionally, in terms of cameras, it is expected to feature a 50MP primary camera, a 13MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP optical zoom camera. The difference has to do with the chip, as the Xiaomi 13T uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8200, while the 13T Pro uses the Dimensity 9200-Ultra, which is a slightly improved version of the existing 9200. In any case, now we just have to wait for the announcement of the duo on September 26 to know all the details about them.
