Xiaomi prepares REPLACEMENT for Android: understand

End of Android? Xiaomi intends to launch a new system for its devices.

The Android operating system from the American company Google certainly serves the entire world as a mobile solution. Smartphones, regardless of brand, will face a lot of resistance from users if they want to use another system.

Furthermore, the fact that major smartphone brands use Android gives Google one of its main sources of revenue: the app store (Google Play Store). Of course, the millions of dollars that Google collects are millions of dollars that brands do not receive from the activities of people who use devices from Xiaomi, Samsung, OPPO and others. For this reason, one of these brands, Xiaomi, could change this scenario. There are rumors that the company wants to create its own system. Read on to find out more.

Xiaomi “MiOS”

Xiaomi has given the market a scare by registering, without prior warning, the name 'MiOS' in China. The reason is that there were previous rumors that the company would launch a proprietary operating system and this new version shows that the brand is in fact working on this initiative.

According to the famous Ice Universe, Chinese manufacturers can now use the name “MiOS” on their products, as the Chinese trademark office now recognizes MiOS as the company’s property. According to sources, this new operating system will be available on Xiaomi smartphones and laptops in China.

So far, the Xiaomi brand has not commented on any rumors regarding the possible launch of this new operating system. However, everything indicates that the company is now following in Huawei's footsteps with its own HarmonyOS.

China's trade war with the United States has spurred the development of new operating systems, forcing it to seek proprietary alternatives for both hardware and software.

However, some believe that this “MiOS” brand may not be a new system that will compete with Android. Many believe that the new domain is just coming to replace “MIUI” on Xiaomi smartphones. In other words, what will differentiate more expensive phones, such as the Redmi from POCO, for example.

In any case, it is still too early to know what Xiaomi's software initiatives will be. However, new information about MiOS will be revealed in the coming weeks. If you believe that Xiaomi may actually launch a proprietary system, in the coming days, perhaps in September, these suspicions will be dispelled.

Soon, the brand guaranteed by Xiaomi will definitely enter the market and advertising will reveal its secrets. In any case, the MiOS domain has already been registered by the company.

What would change at Xiaomi?

Running its own operating system would give Xiaomi more control over the device's performance, and it would not rely on Google's ecosystem and third-party apps that come with the device by default. Instead, the company could negotiate permission to use certain services, as well as create new app and game stores.

Chinese brand Huawei has already made a similar move with HarmonyOS, but trade and political restrictions in the United States have prevented the brand from licensing it to Google.
