Did you know that Apple can UPDATE even iPhones that are still sealed in the box?

Meet Apple's innovative new technology. Using your iPhone is about to get even easier.

Apple has already developed a system capable of delivering a sealed and fully updated iPhone to anyone who buys a phone in one of its stores. This means that the user experience will not be interrupted in the first few minutes, as the mandatory update of the mobile operating system is being performed before it is even sold.

Of course, not all stores will have this technological advancement. Keep reading to learn more about how the update will be done remotely.

In-box update

Apple has developed a technology that can deliver a software update to an iPhone directly in a store. The idea involves a surface that can remotely turn on the device in the box, update iOS, and then turn the phone off again. This happens while the phone is sealed in the box, and the update will be delivered while the iPhone is receiving power to perform the upgrade.

This technology is expected to be introduced in Apple stores before the end of the year. We currently have two in Brazil, one in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) and another in São Paulo (SP). If you've ever bought an iPhone, new or used, you'll know that when you turn on your phone for the first time, the mobile operating system requires an Internet connection and downloads all available iOS updates. This action is intended to protect the data that will be placed on the device, but it also significantly delays the feeling of actually using the phone. To avoid this extra time to start using your new phone, Apple has already developed a technology that is capable of updating the iPhone in the store without having to remove the seal from the new models.

Here in Brazil, your iPhone will be turned on, updated and turned off again remotely. All this while keeping the phone sealed and the battery charged, since updating without a power outlet takes a while. Garman expects the system to be implemented in Apple stores by the end of this year.

New iPhone system resolves overheating

Additionally, Apple has confirmed that it is working on an update to the iOS 17 to resolve overheating issues on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models. The company clarified that the problem is not with the new A17 Pro chip, but rather with bugs in some third-party apps and the system itself.

According to reports, apps like Instagram, Uber and the game “Asphalt 9: Legend” are responsible for the device’s overheating. Apple is already in contact with the developers of these apps to release a fix as soon as possible.

The company also noted that background activity may cause the device to heat up in the first few days after setup or reboot. However, software updates are in the works to fix these and other issues.

A beta version of iOS 17.1 is currently available and the overheating correction may be included in the official release. This refutes previous rumors that the titanium design and ineffective cooling solution were the cause of the issue. While there are complaints about overheating, not all users are experiencing this issue. This indicates that future updates may resolve the issue for most dissatisfied customers.
