The Brazilian courts recently ordered Facebook to pay R$1,400,000 in collective moral damages for leaks in the country between 2018 and 2019. The decision was made by the 29th Civil Court of Belo Horizonte.
The decision also stated that the company must pay R$1,400,000, individually, to each Internet user who was affected by the data leak and who files a lawsuit against the company.
