Foldable phones are Samsung's new bet, having recently launched two models. Find out more about them!
Foldable phones are all the rage at the moment and have been the talk of the town ever since Samsung decided to invest in this type of model and decided that this would be the company's focus for the time being. During an event in July, the manufacturer launched its two new foldable phones, which hit the market with a slightly higher price tag and with features that are very similar to the previous generation of the foldable line.
Samsung, which has been facing a crisis, believes that foldable smartphones will be the company's salvation, and expects them to have high sales numbers. The two new models are Samsung's bets to compete with the iPhone 15, which is expected to be launched soon.
But is a foldable phone really that good? What is its main purpose? Find out now!
Foldable cell phones
In the last month, Samsung Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. has launched its two new foldable phones, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Both devices are now available for pre-order on the manufacturer's website and will begin shipping to buyers on August 11, next Friday. Both models feature some improvements over their predecessors, but many things are the same across the models.
Over the years, foldable cell phones have “matured” and brands are currently presenting better and more complete models, different from the first foldable models, more technological, which could even be considered experimental.
One of the main changes between the folding models of generation 5 Samsung's predecessors, from generation 4, are on the screens of the devices. The Z Flip 5 has a larger external screen, much larger than those of previous generations, which were small and not as useful. The folds have also undergone improvements, to ensure that the phones close better, without leaving space between the edges, which is the case with the models of generation 4.
Another positive point in these new cell phones is the chosen processor, which is more current and powerful than that of its predecessors, however, it is the same processor as the Galaxy S23, also from the Samsung brand.
What is the purpose of the model?
Even with improvements compared to older foldable models, the brand's new cell phones do not present major differences and do everything that a more traditional model does, at a much more affordable price than foldable ones.
However, if consumers like to follow trends and like to have different devices, foldable phones can be a great option. However, going against what the company expects, it is possible that the model will not become so popular, if the most it can offer is aesthetic appeal, since the price is not that attractive and the models do not have great innovations, besides being foldable.
