WhatsApp recently launched the Channel feature, which allows you to send a message to an unlimited number of people, keeping you informed about your interests. You can report a Channel in the app if the content of the messages does not follow the community guidelines.
The feature was launched this month and allows users to follow pages and receive news about celebrities, companies and various topics. Special groups only allow administrators to send messages, with text, audio, image and video content.
If a user does not agree with all the content posted in the groups – if it contains illegal, criminal, offensive content or content that violates the app's terms of use and privacy. In addition to reporting the channel, it is also possible to send a specific warning about a post on a page, so that it can be analyzed by the platform team.

How to report a channel
- Open the app and go to the channels page in the updates tab. Click on the channel you want to report;
- Then, go to the three-dot icon, which is at the top of the screen. Then, click on Report;
- A new window will open on your screen for you to confirm the operation. Check “Unfollow channel” if you also want to stop receiving news about the group. Click Report to send.
It is not possible to write the reason for the report, but the app's teams must investigate the reported content and then take action. If necessary, the channel may even be deleted.
How to report a channel post
If you wish, you can report only a specific publication from a Channel. This way, you direct WhatsApp in a more precise way about what type of content you consider irregular, increasing the details of what happened, facilitating the platform's work.
To do this, repeat step 1 of the previous topic and join the group that will have the post reported. Hold your finger on the post you want to report for a few seconds, release your finger and notice that the post has changed color. Go to the three-dot icon and select Report.
As in the previous item, you can also choose to leave the channel by checking the option. Once this process is done, click on Report.
Channels
Channels work in a similar way to functions that are already present in apps like Telegram and Instagram. Channels are separate from the others. app conversations.
