Android users, especially inexperienced ones, can make some typical “mistakes” with their devices. You run the risk of missing out on some very interesting features on your device or developing unhealthy habits with your phone. For example, not providing Google Assistant will affect the user experience.

Don't give unnecessary permissions to Android

A big mistake that some Android users make is granting unnecessary permissions to apps. There are risks associated with the process, such as access to sensitive data, constant advertising, and even spying. The app always asks for permission after downloading to provide personalized service.

However, it’s a good idea to double-check which pop-ups actually need to be allowed to ensure the best user experience and avoid scams. We also recommend that you always restrict permissions, such as the “Just Once” Location Services option, which you can adjust in Android Settings.

Uninstall useless applications

Android users often don’t know that they can uninstall apps that were already on their device before they bought it, i.e. apps that were installed on the device, including bloatware. Operating systems often have useless default apps that take up storage space that could be used for other important features. Furthermore, these apps drain your phone’s battery quickly. So while some can be removed, others can only be disabled. Both procedures are done through the Android settings.

Do not install apps from unknown sources

Installing apps from third-party sources on Android is not recommended for several reasons. Known as software outside the operating system's official store, these APKs are usually downloaded when some features are not available by default on the phone or in apps from the official store, Google Play Store.

The main APK problem is that they are installed on devices without going through the usual security checks that other apps from the official Android store have. Furthermore, it is not possible to verify for what purpose the app uses the information acquired from the user and whether it is used only for the purpose of improving the customer experience. Therefore, to stay safe and prevent virus infections, it is best to avoid installing apps from unknown sources.

Set up Google Assistant

Google Assistant, Android’s official assistant, can be very useful for making calls, getting weather updates, setting reminders for daily tasks, translating and reading texts, and many other functions that can be performed with simple commands. This means that Android users without the tool will no longer have access to these and many other great features designed specifically for the operating system. So, be sure to use the tool to have a complete experience on your smartphone, with all the possible functionalities.
