Understand Samsung's latest developments. The Korean brand intends to include a feature from the iPhone.
One of the biggest new features of the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max is the titanium body, a change from other Apple models that use stainless steel. Apple justifies the use of this material not only because it makes the smartphone lighter, but also because of the different 'look' it gives to the new top of the line iPhone 15 series.
If the information on the Revegnus social media page is confirmed via X (or Twitter), Samsung is expected to acknowledge this and make the same changes to its new phones. According to the page, the next three models in the Samsung smartphone series – the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra – will have titanium sides, so those who are waiting for a phone with this material will have to wait a little longer. However, there are now more opportunities to make the same choices when it comes to Asian brands.
Greater guarantee
Samsung announced this past Tuesday (10) a warranty extension for its Galaxy Edition line of devices, which previously had an initial two-year warranty. Eligible devices include the Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold5, Galaxy Z Flip5, Galaxy A34, Galaxy A54 and Galaxy Tab S9 FE tablets.
As announced by the Korean company, the commercial warranty period for this product has been extended by one year, so the company's support period will now be three years. This offer also applies to compatible devices purchased prior to the company's recent announcement and to all eligible lines.
The announcement of the warranty extension for the Enterprise Edition category was made by Samsung's French subsidiary, and the news will likely only apply to France at first. The company did not say whether other countries would benefit from the insurance extension, but given the Korean brand's track record, it is likely that they will. As Samsung explains, the Galaxy Enterprise Edition is "a complete package of technologies and services designed to give you more choice, more control and more protection."
This plan is designed for business use and offers exclusive benefits such as extended upgrade times, Knox Suite, and multi-device availability.
Security update
Samsung began rolling out security patches in October with the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5. Soon after, the flagship Galaxy S22 has received an update in the US. It was also reported to the media a few days ago that the Galaxy A54 would be part of the package. Now, the South Korean company has released an update for its Galaxy S23 lineup of devices in Europe and India.
The update available in Europe for Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus and Galaxy S23 Ultra have firmware version S911BXXS3AWIF and includes the October 2023 security patch. In India it is recognized as S918BXXS3AWIG. This update provides security and privacy fixes for 12 vulnerabilities, in addition to improving the overall stability of the system. Of course, there are also new features or performance improvements. Samsung detailed the patch a few days ago.
As mentioned above, the security patch is currently available only for users in Europe and India. It is expected to roll out to more countries, including Brazil, in the future. If you own a Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, or Galaxy S23 Ultra and want to check if the October security patch is available, go to “Settings,” “Software update,” and click on “Download and install.” Samsung has launched the Galaxy S23 lineup with Android 5.1.1 based on One UI 13. The flagship is currently participating in the One UI 6.0 beta program based on Android 14, with the public rollout expected to begin later this month.
