Samsung is one of the world's leading cell phone manufacturers and Brazil's favorite brand, being the number one seller in the country. The company has several lines of cell phones that please consumers due to their high performance and good prices in different models, which have specifications for every need.
This year, the company surprised customers with the news that a beloved model will be discontinued, so that newer, more modern models can hit the market, as other brands are investing heavily in technology and competition is increasing.
If you are a Samsung fan, find out now which is this beloved model that will stop being manufactured and learn more details about this case.

Production discontinuity
To invest in new, more modern and technological models, Samsung announced during an event that it will discontinue production of the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G. The Samsung S21 Ultra had already been discontinued since February 2022, and since then, it was only found on resale websites. However, as time went by, it became increasingly difficult to find the model, which was one of the brand's favorites in Brazil.
Even before the announcement was made by the company, the device was no longer found in the brand's official store in the United States, where it appeared as sold out.
The future of the brand's cell phones
Investing more and more in technology and top-of-the-line devices, Samsung wants to introduce and popularize new screen formats on its smartphones, including increasingly smaller borders, leaving the front panel of the cell phone freer, with the camera under the display.
Known as “Zero Bezel,” screens with fewer edges aim to curve the OLED panel to the sides of the device, with 3D laminated glass for protection. Despite being quite attractive, the fragility that the screens can present in possible falls can end up worrying consumers, as the device may be more susceptible to risks, such as scratches and other damage.
Another point may be the use of protective covers, which may hinder the use of the side regions of the device, or which may not be able to protect the cell phone sufficiently, while not using them may result in involuntary touches to the screen when holding the device.
It is not yet possible to confirm whether Samsung will actually invest in this type of screen, since it needs to make it work without presenting problems, and since the cost for this type of production is high, and the value must be passed on to consumers.
In 2021, Xiaomi introduced a model with this type of technology on the screen. The phone had a body without buttons and without a charger connector. However, the project never got off the ground and was not even released as a functional prototype.
Foldable devices
Furthermore, another strong bet by Samsung is the manufacturing of foldable cell phones, which should continue to be popular until next year. Recently, the brand launched its two new foldable models, which arrived on the market to compete head-to-head with the iPhone 15, which is due to be released next month.
Samsung believes that foldable phones will increase the sales of the brand, which is facing a crisis. The company expects reach the numbers from Apple with premium line cell phones.
The brand's largest number of sales are of entry-level and mid-range cell phones, but the brand's premium cell phones are not yet as popular, and for this reason, the company wants to invest in this type of device.
