The iPhone 15 Pro Max, a recently launched smartphone from Apple, was voted the second best camera in the world, according to the DxOMark laboratory, known for testing and ranking smartphones. According to the experts' assessment, the most advanced model from the American manufacturer is second only to the Huawei P60 Pro.

So far, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has been the only smartphone in the new lineup to be tested by the DxOMark team. According to their analysis, this is the best iPhone they have tested to date. According to DxOMark, while its camera specs may not seem that groundbreaking on paper compared to some of its competitors, Apple's engineers have managed to make improvements where it matters.

The iPhone 15 Pro Max's camera received maximum scores in two aspects: indoor photos and videos, with good lighting conditions; and photos of family and friends, which includes portraits and group photos and videos.

iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera

To have been considered the second best camera in the world according to the analysis, the iPhone 15 Pro Max has the following specifications:

– Wide-angle: 48 MP, f/1.78 aperture, equivalent to 24 mm;

– Ultra-wide: 12 MP, f/2.2 aperture, equivalent to 13 mm;

– Telephoto lens: 12 MP, f/2.8 aperture, equivalent to 120 mm.

According to the analysis, in tests, the iPhone 15 Pro Max excelled at capturing portraits, delivering impressive skin tone accuracy and facial exposure in a variety of lighting conditions. The camera typically delivered excellent contrast on faces, even in challenging situations, while retaining detail. Additionally, its ability to capture a photo at the exact moment the shutter button is pressed reduced the risk of missing decisive moments.

The model also excelled in outdoor photos with good lighting and videos in low-light environments. In total, the device received 154 points in the camera test, securing its second place in the ranking. The model Huawei P60 Pro scored 156 points on the test.

According to DxOMark's analysis, the main positive points of the iPhone camera are:

– Vivid brightness and contrast;

– Accurate exposure, even in night shots;

– Reproduction of pleasant and natural colors and skin tones;

– Excellent detail under bright light;

– Fast and accurate autofocus;

– Effective video stabilization.

The main negative points are:

– Noise in low light photos;

– Unwanted artifacts such as reflections, ghosting and aliasing;

– Slightly limited dynamic range in photos;

– Inconsistent details across all zoom ranges.

Galaxy S23 Ultra

THE Galaxy S23 Ultra, the main competitor of the iPhone 15 Pro Max in Brazil, received 140 points in the tests, appearing in 11th place in the ranking, along with the Google Pixel 7, the Vivo X90 Pro + and the Xiaomi 13 Ultra.

Among the cell phones officially sold in Brazil, only Apple's iPhones appeared in the top 10. They were: iPhone 15 Pro Max, with 154 points; iPhone 14 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro, with 146 points; and iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max, with a total of 141 points.
