Foldable phones are becoming increasingly popular around the world. These top-of-the-line devices stand out for their size, features and design, which resembles two cell phones. Several companies have already entered the foldable race, but one has yet to launch a device of this type: Apple.

Try Galaxy

Two iPhones were used to recreate the new phone's experience Samsung foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 5. This experiment was conducted by MacWorld editor-in-chief Roman Loyola with the help of “Try Galaxy,” a free web app.

This app allows you to mimic some of the foldable features on Apple phones. To get as close as possible to the feeling of using a smartphone with an expandable screen, Loyola attaches the iPhone 14 Pro Max to the iPhone 13 Pro Max with tape.

Launched by Samsung earlier this year, the Try Galaxy program began as a way for iPhone users to connect to the South Korean manufacturer's One UI interface. In August, the tool was updated to allow iPhone owners to duplicate the One UI 5.1.1 experience, the interface of the Galaxy Z Fold 5, on two Apple phones. However, a model that is more advanced than the iPhone 7 is required for a successful experience.

Z Fold Tools

With the tool, you can check out the various features of Z Fold 5. These include FlexCam, a mode that lets you take photos from multiple angles, and Flex Panel, which turns your phone into a 'mini laptop'. When the phone is folded, the apps in use are at the top of the screen, and at the bottom there is a panel with additional controls.

You’ll also see more of Samsung’s ecosystem, like the Samsung Health and QuickShare apps. After trying out Try Galaxy on the iPhone, Roman Loyola said the demo was well done, but it didn’t convince him to switch to a foldable. The executive said he’s been using the iPhone since the beginning and the Samsung Tri-Galaxy demo went well, but it didn’t convince him to switch to Android. Loyola also said he’s not sure if he really needs a foldable phone, whether it’s iOS or Android. He also expressed concerns about the phone’s massive size.

How to test Galaxy Z Flip 5 on iPhone?

Anyone who wants to do the same experiment can go to the Try Galaxy website (https://br.trygalaxy.com/) and scan the QR code on the two Apple phones they want to test. After installing the app, pin it to the home screen of both iPhones. Once done, you will need to open the app, watch the tutorial and enter the code to recognize your other iPhone.

Then it will be ready to use. The interface moves from the iOS standard to the Android 13 operating system with the One UI 5.1.1 interface.
