The app recently launched a feature that allows users to send high-resolution photos. Learn how to send them!

WhatsApp users know very well that the app can be used for different activities, such as sending messages, photos, videos, making voice and video calls and even payments. However, sending photos was not so good, since the image was compressed, which compromised its quality.

As a result, many users had to use other ways to send photos, such as sending them by email or even sending them as documents, so that the image would not lose quality. Thinking about this problem for users, the tool invested in a new feature that allows sending photos in HD without losing their quality.

Sending HD photos

Recently, WhatsApp announced that it is now possible to send HD photos within the app. The move pleased users who were bothered by the poor quality of photos sent in conversations.

So, if you want to send a photo in high resolution, feel free! To do so, you need to select the image you want to send and click on the “HD” button, located in the same place as the other editing features. If the icon is disabled, the photo will be sent in “standard quality” mode, as it is normally sent in the app.

According to the platform itself, standard quality photos have between 1.5 MP and 4 MP, while HD photos have between 9 MP and 16 MP. The new feature is already available to many users, but should be released to everyone in the coming weeks.

The platform should soon also allow users to send HD videos. The feature should work in the same way as sending photos. When receiving the image in high quality, the user can decide whether or not to download it in high quality.

To further improve the user experience within the app, the platform is testing a feature that allows users to use more than one account on the same phone. This option is ideal for users who separate their personal and professional lives, using two app accounts.

Information from WABetaInfo indicates that the new feature is already being tested in the beta version of the app, for Android cell phones. With this new feature, users will be able to add another account to the app, and they will be able to switch between the two. According to the information, conversations, groups and notifications will be separated. Currently, users who use more than one account need to use cloning apps or have more than one cell phone.

WhatsApp has also been working on and releasing other features that promise to make users' lives even easier, such as screen sharing in video calls, group voice chats, scheduling calls in the app, blocking calls from unknown numbers and passwords in conversations, so that third parties cannot access them.

With this, WhatsApp intends to reinforce its commitment to users, improving their experience and security within the platform.
