The MEI Digital is one of the facilities offered by the Federal Government to the Individual Microentrepreneur, the MEI. Currently, there are two official platforms for these people, the Entrepreneur Portal and the MEI app. In both MEI Digital options, it is possible to resolve all the demands of the category, including the issuance of the DAS, the Simplified Collection Document. This guide is the main obligation of the MEI so that he can keep his business operating regularly.

The DAS must be paid by the microentrepreneur on the 20th of each month. The payment slip is issued online using the 100% system and does not generate any costs for the user. According to data from the Ministry of Economy, the country has already surpassed the mark of 10 million Individual Microentrepreneurs.

  2. Select the “Issue Payment Guide” option;
  3. Enter the calendar year;
  4. Select the DAS you wish to issue;
  5. Click on “Aquar/Gerar”;

What is DAS?

The Simplified Collection Document (DAS) is the document responsible for keeping the MEI's National Registry of Legal Entities (CNPJ) regular. For this to happen, the user must make the payment by the 20th of each month, which is the microentrepreneur's monthly contribution.

Opening a CPJN MEI is very simple, but to keep the company active it is necessary to make payments on time, which grants access to annual declarations, invoices, opening of new registrations and also social security contributions.

The minimum wage has a direct influence on the MEI contribution, which is based on 5% of the national minimum wage. Therefore, Resolution No. 140/2018 of the Simples Nacional Management Committee determines that the amounts that make up the collection are: Tax on Services (ISS); Tax on Circulation of Goods and Services (ICMS) and a variable related to social security.

With the new minimum wage of R$1,320 since May 1st of this year, the MEI collection values are as follows:

– R$ 66 social security;

– R$67 for ICMS contribution;

– R$71 for ISS contribution;

– R$72 for joint contribution of ICMS and ISS.

In the case of MEI Autonomous Cargo Transport, whose contribution to social security is 12% of the minimum wage, the amount paid to the National Institute of Social Security was adjusted to R$158.40, in addition to the values equivalent to ISS and ICMS.

How to register

To open a MEI, you need to access the Entrepreneur Portal, choose the option “I want to be”, “Formalize” and log in with the account from gov.br. After that, you must fill out the registration form, confirm the data with the latest IR receipt or voter registration card and issue the certificate immediately.
