Data from Scientiamobile's Mobile Overview Report revealed that at the end of June the average lifespan of mobile phones in use globally was over 24 months, a trend that does not exactly fit in the same way for users from Apple and Android. iPhone users upgrade to newer models faster than Android users. from Android.

The figures show that 26.41% of Android phones had been in use for 25 to 36 months as of June, while 24.11% of iPhones had been in use for 13 or less than 24 months. While Android users have been using the same phone for two to three years, iPhone users have been using the same model for half that time.

Another piece of data from the same survey indicates that 14.7% of users from iPhone change their cell phone with each new release. In other words, they change their device every year or so. In the case of Android devices, the number of changes drops by half.

As for brand loyalty, the data shows that 121% of people have been using the same iPhone for more than five years. In the case of Android, only 8.7% of cell phones have been using it for this long.

According to the data, the iPhone 11 continues to be the most used cell phone in all regions of the world, where 15 of the 21 most used cell phones are from Apple. Only a few models from Samsung and Xiaomi manage to come close to Apple, but even so, the iPhone 11 continues to rise, with 4,88% of the cell phones in use.

The data also shows how long it takes for a cell phone to present problems. 23.5% of the active models took between 13 and 24 months of use. In 23.6% of the cases, the first failure occurred between 25 and 36 months, confirming a significant use of cell phones for more than two years.

More data

A survey by Consumer Intelligence Research Partners showed that among iPhone buyers, the number of people who previously used Android devices in the US varied between 10% and 15% in recent years.

According to the data, the main reason for switching is problems with the old device, either because it is too old or because something is missing. 53% of people who switch to the iPhone do so for this reason.

Secondly, the exchange is made because of the new features of the iPhone, using the functions that the brand offers. Thirdly, there is the cost, where people believe that they spent less on the iPhone than they would on an Android phone. Fourthly, there is the community connection, where some features only work on Apple phones, and for this reason, some people opt for devices from the brand.
