Better late than never! After testing on WhatsApp beta, a feature that allows sending high-quality photos on the app has finally been released. Previously, photos sent via the messenger ended up being compressed, and therefore lost their quality, which ended up annoying many users, who had to think of other alternatives to send them.
With this in mind, in order to improve the user experience, the app began testing the feature, which already exists on Telegram, its biggest rival. And finally, after months of testing, Meta decided to launch the feature, which delivers better results when sending images.
Learn all about this new feature and learn how to use it!
New feature
The new feature of WhatsApp application will allow users to send HD photos to their contacts. Before sending a photo, a setting will appear, where you can choose between two options: standard quality or HD quality. In standard quality, the photo sent is 1365 x 2048 pixels, while in HD, the image is 2000 x 3000 pixels, a significant increase.
The recipient of the image will know that it was sent in high quality, and will be able to choose whether or not to download it in HD, making it easier to access when the connection is poor. High-quality images will also be protected by end-to-end encryption.
As the release is recent, it may take a while to reach all users, as the release is done gradually. However, Meta company ensures that the feature will be available to everyone in the coming weeks. One alternative to try to speed up the use of the new feature is to update the application.
