New features are being released, bringing several new features to users. Find out more!

WhatsApp is one of the most popular apps today. It allows users to send text messages, audio messages, videos, photos, documents, make voice and video calls, and even make payments within the platform, all in a very quick and convenient way. Because of its ease of use, WhatsApp has billions of users worldwide and is growing all the time.

To continue to please users and attract new ones, WhatsApp has been testing and releasing several improvements and new tools, allowing users to have even more features and be able to do everything within the platform. One of the app's recent features allows users to edit messages that have already been sent.

This means that after sending a message and noticing a spelling or information error, the user no longer needs to delete the message and rewrite it. They only need to edit the wrong word or information and resend it, making the process faster and more practical.

In addition, the app has also recently released other updates that you need to know about and test. Check out these new features now!

Files up to 2 GB

It is now possible to send files up to 2 GB on WhatsApp. To do this, you need to open the media sending clip, click on documents and check the option “New, share files up to 2 GB”. With this, users will be able to send larger content, be it photos, videos or documents.

It is important to remember that this option is different from sending HD photos, which was also recently released on WhatsApp, where users can send high-quality photos without losing quality, as used to happen on the app.

To do this, when choosing a photo to send, the user needs to click on HD, which is at the top of the screen. This allows the user to send the image in high quality, without having to send it as a document or use other “workarounds”.

Navigate tabs by swiping sideways

It is now possible to navigate through the different tabs of the application, such as Calls, Messages, Communities and Status, just by dragging the slider to the side.

Sending video messages

You can also send video messages, just like voice messages. To do this, just click on the microphone icon, where a camera icon will appear. Then, just hold the icon and record your video for a maximum time of up to 60 seconds. This feature is also different from sending videos in the app.

The video message is sent in a round format and appears in the chat without sound. In order for the user to play the audio, they need to click on the message and open it.

To disable the feature, just go to Settings, go to Chats and “Instant Video Messaging” and disable the feature. This means that when you click on the microphone, the camera icon will no longer appear, leaving only the function for sending voice messages.

Changing icons

On Android, the Call, Message, and Status icons, which used to be at the top of the screen, are now appearing at the bottom, which was already the case on iPhone models. The update isn't available to all users yet, but it should be rolling out soon.

Broadcast channels

Like this on Telegram, WatsApp now has Broadcast Channels, where channel administrators can send messages with information, links and updates on certain topics, according to the channel created, be it football, celebrities, news and more.

Avatars

It is also possible to create and send avatars within WhatsApp, just like on Instagram. The new feature is within the emojis area. When you open the tab, the “Avatars” feature will be available for creation.
