In addition, you must wait until the 30-day grace period to submit a claim. Read on to learn more about the plan.

Nubank Insurance
As a result of the collaboration with Chubb, Nubank Celular Seguro is the choice for those who want protect your smartphone against theft, robbery and accidental damage with international protection and 24/7 support. This contract is available to selected fintech customers and also applies to phones purchased abroad.
The contract is flexible. This means that customers can choose between full protection or theft-only protection. However, it is worth remembering that a CPF can only have one contract. Therefore, if you have multiple devices, Nubank will not be able to protect them all.
When NuBank Insurance is activated, it works in two ways. In case of theft or robbery, the insurer sends the user a refurbished cell phone of the same or similar model. In case of accidental damage, the company repairs the smartphone or sends a similar one to the user, depending on the results of the analysis.
What does the insurance cover?
In the event of accidental damage, according to the fintech, the service offers compensation for loss of the insured property due to “duly proven accidents”. However, the Company does not provide a complete list of incidents like these handled by the Service.
Coverage against theft and robbery is quite extensive. In addition to assault, i.e. taking a device by force, NuBank Insurance also covers simple theft, when there is no evidence of a crime. Protection against aggravated robbery is also covered by the financial institution's insurance.
Is there a franchise?
Nubank charges users a copayment. This amount depends on the contract selected and is passed on before the contract is signed. According to the Digital Bank, the deductible exists to keep monthly payments cheaper. On the other hand, if the coverage is not active, the user does not need to pay the deductible. The fintech explains that there is no copayment if the insurance is not used within the contractual term, that is, 12 months.
Insurance deficiency
Just because you have insurance now doesn't mean your phone is insured immediately. The financial institution explains on its website that Nubank Seguro Celular has a 30-day grace period. In other words, the service can only be activated after this period ends. The grace period applies to all contracts signed by Nubank.
Variable values
The cost of Nubank cell phone insurance varies depending on the device and service contracted. During the recruitment process, users can run a simulation to set up a deductible according to their needs. This way, it is possible to adjust the monthly usage fee and check the excess amount before purchasing the service.
The price is paid on the same date of contract every month through a Nubank account or fintech credit card. However, if the payment date falls on a weekend or holiday, the amount will only be withdrawn from the customer on the next business day.
Contract and activation
The contract with Nubank Seguros is made using the financial institution's own app. To do so, the user simply needs to access the platform on Android and iPhone (iOS) devices and access the insurance area.
Then, enter “mobile insurance” and run the simulation. The entire process is carried out digitally, without relying on phone calls or even a branch. Payment, as previously mentioned, is made monthly on the date of contracting through the Nubank account or the fintech's credit card.
The action will depend on the incident that occurred. In the case of theft, the customer must request the blocking of their IMEI and file a police report. The same applies to thefts. Then, just register your problem on the insurance website and pay your deductible using Pix, a bank slip or a credit card.
In case of accidental damage, the insured must also register on the insurance portal and pay the deductible. However, if your phone is from Apple or Xiaomi, you will need to unlink your iCloud or Mi Cloud account and send the device to your insurer.
