Find out everything about this new feature that is being developed by Google. Users have been waiting a long time!

Stock Android will soon receive a new feature that is highly anticipated by its users: easy access to change networks on phones with two SIM cards. The information was confirmed this week by a Google developer. Currently, to switch networks on a phone with two SIM cards running stock Android, you need to go into the device's settings, go to "Network" and choose which SIM card you want to use.

Even though dual-SIM phones are quite old on the market, Google has never included a quick configuration option for switching networks. As a result, all current solutions available in the system are offered by manufacturers through their interfaces.

Announcement

It is not yet known exactly when the new feature will arrive in a stable form on Android 14, as the system has already been released for compatible Pixel phones, from Google itself. Find out more about this new feature in the operating system now!

Switching networks on dual-SIM phones

Starting with a future system update, Android should offer this option to change within the quick settings panel. To do this, simply tap a button to make the network change.

According to leaker Mishaal Rahman, a Google engineer recently added on the public feedback page that he is working on developing this quick access option. However, it is not yet known when the new feature will arrive in a stable form on the Android 14, since the system has already been released for cell phones Pixel line compatible.

Announcement

Furthermore, the feature is not yet available in the current beta version of the software. Therefore, the only option is to wait for Google's next steps. This option is highly anticipated, as it does not exist natively in the operating system, and manufacturers need to add it through their interfaces.

Currently, the network switching feature that Google offers has a long way to go, as users need to access their phone's settings to be able to choose which chip they want to use.

Android 14

Android 14 was launched by Google earlier this month at an event that also announced its new flagship phones, the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro. The new version of Google's operating system is packed with new features and improvements to some existing features, as well as greater privacy and security control.

As most manufacturers offer four years of update support for their devices, many cell phones launched in recent years will receive the system.

Among the main new features of Android 14 are:

– New lock screen;

– Personalization;

– Monochromatic theme;

– Artificial intelligence for creating wallpapers;

– Text size control;

– Auditory accessibility;

– Flash notification;

– Greater privacy;

– More secure PIN;

– Update on Google Home;

– Ultra HDR;

– Possibility of transforming your cell phone into a webcam.

Google has highlighted that not all features are available for all phones running Android 14. The company usually keeps some features exclusive to phones in its line for a while. Some things also depend on the adaptation by manufacturers that use the operating system in their models.
