Discover the new feature launched on WhatsApp. It will be very useful at work.
Known as one of the most popular messaging apps in the world, WhatsApp has been rolling out several new features recently. Aiming to improve the app's usability and security, Meta, which owns not only WhatsApp, but also Facebook and Instagram, has been investing heavily in updates.
Recently, the messaging app came with a new feature that promises to surprise users. To understand, continue reading and learn more about the new feature.
Screen sharing
Users can now share their device screen during video calls. Conversations with friends, family, and coworkers can now provide a more complete interaction with the new update on WhatsApp.
Now you don’t need to use other apps or platforms like Google Meet or Zoom to share your screen. This is a huge step forward, especially for those who want to use the tool for work.
With Messenger video calling, you can directly select the window you want to share. To do this, follow the steps below on your device.
First step – Open the app (available on Android, iOS and desktop versions)
Second step – Start a video call with one of your contacts.
Step Three – Tap on the “Share” icon at the bottom of the app.
Step Four – Next, choose whether you want to share a specific application or the entire device screen.
This feature allows users to view shared documents, spreadsheets, and presentations in real time, as well as see potential edits on another screen. This makes it easy for colleagues to collaborate, even remotely. You can also share photos and videos.
Other news in the calls
Another advanced feature of WhatsApp is the group calling feature. Previously, this type of calling was only available to a limited number of specific people. However, now Meta plans to roll out the calling feature to up to 32 people at a time.
Anyone in the group can join the voice chat and start a conversation at any time. If a call is inactive for 60 minutes (1 hour), the conversation will automatically end. After that, it will be available for everyone to restart the conversation at any time.
The aim of this new feature is to engage more people in video calls on the app. Previously, because it did not have screen sharing and had a limited number of people on the call, the app was not very useful for meetings with coworkers or even friends.
Update for iPhone
In addition to call updates, which apply to all cell phones, the WhatsApp has launched a new feature Exclusive to iOS. Now cell phones with this system are updated with media subtitle editing.
According to WABetaInfo, the update, 23.12.78, was distributed via the App Store on Tuesday. This feature allows users to change the captions of photos, videos, and other media content at any time.
To check if new versions of the app are active on your account, simply check for pending updates in the WhatsApp tab in your app store.
Other changes mentioned by experts include a new transparent bar and improvements to Messenger's internal menus, but users will have to wait a little longer for these.
