Learn how to properly clean your cell phone. Don't put your health at risk.

The excessive use of cell phones is a cause for concern in several ways, mainly because it is not observed and discussed very often. But it should be, as these devices are increasingly present in people's lives, almost at all times. The main issue, which many people do not take seriously, is that cell phones are vectors of microbial contamination.

According to research by the DeVry Metrocamp University Center in Campinas, it can harbor more than 23 thousand species. Be careful if you usually take your cell phone to the bathroom. Studies have shown that bacteria can accumulate in feces, resulting in the development of several diseases if the individual comes into contact with it. And even worse, the center's analysis revealed that the equipment was even dirtier than the toilet seat itself. Keep reading and learn how to protect yourself from these bacteria.

Danger in the palm of your hands

Hands are constantly in contact with microorganisms (viruses, bacteria, fungi, etc.) and are known vectors of infection, which also applies to phones. Scientists are studying this subject and have already proven that devices can be contaminated with several classes of pathogenic bacteria. One of them, Staphylococcus, causes skin infections. Another, called actinomycetes, can cause diphtheria and tuberculosis. There are also Enterococci, which can cause meningitis, and Citrobacter, which can cause urinary tract diseases.

The situation becomes even more serious considering that many pathogens that can be transmitted via smartphones are scientifically proven to be resistant to antibiotics and conventional treatments. In other words, they are very difficult or impossible to treat using traditional methods. The many diseases transmitted in this way include skin, intestinal and respiratory tract infections, which can be fatal.

Virus on cell phone

The material in your device can also contain and transmit viruses. For example, cold viruses can survive on plastic surfaces for up to a week. Your device could also contain rotavirus, which can cause stomach infections in children, or the coronavirus itself.

One way to avoid this problem is to always keep a good hygiene. It is important to clean the surfaces of your device with isopropyl alcohol and keep your hands clean when handling it. It is worth remembering that the use of soaps, detergents and alcohol gel is not recommended. It is also recommended to use soft, lint-free cloths, and avoid towels, scouring pads and paper towels. It is also important to clean the cover and case, which tend to accumulate dirt. In this case, if it is made of plastic, silicone or similar material, apply soap and water and let it dry. Other materials, such as leather, should be cleaned with special products.

Spread of smartphone addiction

Brazil is the second country that uses the most cell phones in the world, and this impressive data may hide serious health risks, which are not taken into account. With the proliferation of smartphones, the use of these devices has become more common, and many people spend most of their day online, whether for work or leisure, so attention must be redoubled.
