iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models report OVERHEATING: almost 50ºC

Apple's new cell phone is causing controversy among users. iPhone 15 suffers from high temperatures.

According to user reports, the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max are overheating with temperatures approaching 50°C. Recently, owners of premium models have been posting their experiences with this issue, mainly on X (formerly Twitter).

Android Authority experts performed temperature tests and compared the thermals of the iPhone 15 Pro, Galaxy S23 Ultra, and Pixel 7 Pro in various applications. In the experiments carried out, Apple's phones were always the hottest model. However, the temperature did not reach dangerous levels that could harm the user's hands.

iPhone 15 overheating

The iPhone 15 Pro is the hottest, but the difference compared to other products is not huge. However, as more demands are placed on the processor, the phone's temperature rises rapidly. For example, in a CPU stress test after five minutes, the iPhone 15 Pro reached 41.4°C, a temperature at which users can hold the phone without getting hurt.

Just 10 minutes after the test began, the temperature reached an incredible 47.4°C. Experts predicted that since the new Pro model is equipped with a titanium body, overheating will occur due to the design of the device, making it difficult to dissipate heat.

Additionally, the A17 Pro's processor heats up when performing tasks that require more of the chipset, showing signs of overheating. Despite reports and expert opinions, Apple has not commented on the matter so far.

If Apple decides to take official action to address the issue, it is likely that the performance of processors, which the company largely considers to be high-end chips, will be reduced.

Loading slowly

One of the biggest changes to Apple's latest devices is the switch from Lightning to USB-C. The Cupertino giant made the decision globally after requests from European lawmakers. However, this change means that the phone will only be able to charge at 5W speeds using Apple's standard charger.

The first tests showed that, for example, when loading a iPhone 15 or 15 Pro from a USB-A port, the battery went from 0% to 100% in about 5 hours. This means that those who want to charge faster will have to buy a more powerful power source.

Constant crashes

This is a problem that Apple itself has acknowledged, the device freezes on the screen where the company logo appears. According to users, this happened during setup. Most reports say that the failure occurs when someone tries to transfer data from an old iPhone to the iPhone 15 or iPhone 15 Pro. At this point, your smartphone simply enters an Apple boot loop.

Bug or feature?

One of the strangest issues reported so far is that the iPhone 15 Pro may change color. Users may notice initial discoloration of the device when used without any type of protective case. The “fault” of this issue is the titanium frame found in the phone. According to Apple’s own support document, on both the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, “skin oils may change the color of the outer band.”
