Xiaomi unveiled its new foldable smartphone, the Mix Fold 3, this past Monday, the 14th. The Mix Fold 3 is the main competitor to the Galaxy Z Fold and already has an incredible configuration. Xiaomi's foldable smartphone is the third generation, but unfortunately for those who dream of a foldable phone from the brand, it will only be sold in China.
However, there is nothing stopping users from other countries from making online purchases. So far, the manufacturer has not offered any plans to bring it to more markets, and older products have not appeared here, so expecting it to come to Brazil is not a good option. Mix Fold 3
The size of the device solves the main folding problem (at least for the Galaxy Z Fold). If you've seen the Galaxy Z Fold, you'll be surprised at how well it folds. It's like carrying two phones in your pocket. The Mix Fold 3, on the other hand, is a version with a fiberglass frame, measuring 10.86 mm thick when closed. The models with glass on the chassis are thicker, measuring 10.96 mm. To give you an idea, its most popular competitor, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, is 13.4 mm thick. In other words, this size makes the Mix Fold 3 a foldable smartphone lighter and more compact that fits in your pocket.
Processor and cameras
The Xiaomi Mix Fold 3 is equipped with an overclocked Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. This time, an SoC, not the overclocked model that appeared in the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy Z Fold 5. However, in the case of these phones with 12 GB and 16 GB of RAM, the clock difference does not present a very significant change in the performance of the two devices.
Xiaomi's quad-camera setup is somewhat reminiscent of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. The advantage is that instead of a telephoto lens with 3x zoom, the Mix Fold 3 has two lenses. Both have 10MP resolution, but the zooms are 3.2x and 5x. The Mix Fold 3's main sensor is 50MP. The setup also features a 12MP ultra-wide camera. All lenses are produced in collaboration with Leica.
Battery and storage
THE Xiaomi mobile phone It has a 4800mAh battery that supports fast charging with a power of 67W (wired) and 50W (wireless). The cheapest version of the Mix Fold 3 (12GB + 256GB) costs 8,999 Yuan (R$ 6,145.20). The 16GB and 1TB models cost 10,999 (R$ 7,510.96).
In terms of storage capacity, the device comes in 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB versions, with 16 GB of RAM available only in the latter two versions. In addition, the OLED screen has a maximum brightness of up to 2600 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Despite the good specs and price, Samsung is unlikely to lose ground in the market. By limiting the device to the Chinese market only, Xiaomi is giving its competitors a huge advantage in countries around the world.
