See how to participate in the Federal Revenue Auction. You can buy entire lots of cell phones.
On October 3, the Federal Revenue Service (RFS) will hold a new virtual auction of several seized items. The list includes everything from headphones, smartwatches and cars to around 2,800. In addition, for those looking for cell phones, the devices will start at R$1,500.
For those concerned about security, it is worth remembering that the Federal Revenue Service is behind the negotiations. Therefore, purchases are completely protected.
Online auction
On Tuesday, October 3, the IRS will hold an entirely online auction of 500 seized items. Individuals and businesses are welcome to participate. Bids will be accepted until October 2 at 9:00 p.m. (Brazilian time), the day before the auction.
As in previous events, buyers will only be able to purchase entire lots, meaning that the products will not be offered individually. Interested parties can visit the Federal Revenue Warehouse in Bauru (SP) to see for themselves the products on offer. More than 400 were mostly cell phones, according to the statement. This list includes everything from the most basic Xiaomi models to iPhones. For example, one of the lots that will have Apple devices (three iPhones 14 and an 11) is available for the minimum price of R$ 11 thousand.
Important information
Cell phones sold at auction are for personal use only and cannot be resold, the IRS said. To participate, both individuals and legal entities must access the electronic auction system through the Virtual Taxpayer Service Center (e-CAC). Then simply select the auction you wish to participate in (in this case, number 0810500/000001/2023).
Next, select the lot you wish to purchase and access the 'Add Bid' option. The final step is to agree to the IRS Terms and Conditions, enter your bid (which must be higher than the minimum price of the lot) and save your bid.
Can I view the item before bidding?
The answer is yes. The lots may be viewed by prior appointment, on normal business days, at the address, date and time indicated in the auction notice. It is worth mentioning that the lots are located in several locations in the State of São Paulo and in federal revenue units: Araraquara, Franco da Rocha, São Sebastião, Santos, Presidente Prudente, São José do Rio Preto, Sorocaba and Taubaté.
Visits are limited to 2 people at a time and the maximum length of stay is 1 hour. Access to private rooms is only possible upon presentation of official photo ID. Legal entities must present their articles of association or equivalent document, in addition to the official identification of the general partner or valid authorized representative.
The auction notices, item listings and other information related to the auction can be found on the Federal Revenue Service's page dedicated to the event.
