Does the new system reduce battery life?

To illustrate the potential drop, YouTube channel iAppleBytes has published a video comparing the battery life of five different models equipped with the new software. These are the iPhone SE 2, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. Soon after, iAppleBytes using Geekbench's battery testing feature came up with disappointing results. The review noted that "the battery life of all components of the older model actually decreased" after the update.

Especially for iPhone 13 and iPhone XR, the charging time was significantly shorter. The battery performance of iPhone XR is the worst since the release of iOS 14. A graph comparing the real battery life of iOS 15 with the real battery life of iOS 17 was made by youtuber. So if you don't want to face any problems, stick with iOS 16.6 for a while.

Apple should be aware of the potential issue and address it in future updates to ensure a better experience across all iPhone models. To check out the full comparison video, visit the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIH2yqf-omg&ab_channel=iAppleBytes

What's new in iOS 17?

THE new version The iPhone operating system announced at WWDC 2023 in June includes a standby mode. When you place the phone to charge next to it, it turns into a kind of smart display that shows a clock and widgets.

Another feature being introduced for the first time is Contact Poster. This allows users to create a sort of business card with their photo, Memoji, or initials. When you call another iPhone, you'll see this image on your caller ID. You can also share contact information simply by tapping your device close to someone else's.

The keyboard has also been enhanced with AI to improve word prediction and auto-correction. In terms of design, we continue with the customization options introduced in iOS 16, and you can now choose the font weight for your lock screen.

Additionally, home screen widgets are now interactive and even more useful. iOS 17 is also expected to add a new app called Journal for taking notes about the day. However, it's not available yet.
