Last week, Apple announced that the iPhone 15 was launched in Brazil. According to a statement released by the American company on the 27th, pre-sales of the new smartphone officially began on this day.
Sales are actually scheduled for September 29 (Friday), when the device hits stores. This launch comes just a week after the start of sales in the US. According to Apple, the launch window is faster this year, as Anatel approved phones earlier than expected, allowing for faster sales.
New line
The iPhone 15 family, as before, consists of four models. New this year is the launch of Dynamic Island on all phones, allowing the user to interact more with the upper part of their device's screen.
It also includes the USB-C standard, which is a European Union requirement for device manufacturers across all brands, which is good for consumers.
This year's entry-level device is the iPhone 15 with a 6.1-inch screen, two rear cameras, A16 Bionic chip (from 2022), USB-C port and Dynamic Island. Available in capacities of 128 GB, 256 GB and 512 GB, the smartphone is available in pink, blue, green, yellow, white and black colors starting at R$ 7,300.
Premium models
The iPhone 15 Plus is a larger variant with a 6.7-inch display. Otherwise, it's exactly the same phone as the "regular" iPhone 15. Due to the larger display, the price also starts at R$8,300 and goes up to R$10,600 depending on the storage capacity.
The two main changes to the series are the “Pro” line. The iPhone 15 Pro has a 6.1-inch screen, three rear cameras, A17 Pro chip (from 2023), USB-C input, titanium side finish and a new action button with customizable click functions. The available colors are graphite, blue, white and black and prices range from R$ 9,300 to R$ 13,100.
Already the iPhone 15 Pro Max It has the same colors, but is larger because it has a 6.7-inch screen. In addition, unlike its predecessor, this model has a unique feature: a more powerful telephoto lens with up to 5x optical zoom, up from 3x previously. Simulate images as if they were taken with a 120mm lens on a professional camera.
In this case, prices start at R$10,100 and go up to R$14,000, with a maximum capacity of 1 TB. Apple also revealed last week that the Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 (the brand's smartwatches) have not yet received a launch date in Brazil.
Prices of old iPhones are falling
After the launch of the iPhone 15, Apple reduced the price of older models sold in Brazil. The value is reduced by up to 24% depending on the device and storage capacity.
The iPhone 14 Plus, launched in 2022 with a 6.7-inch screen, is the device that saw the biggest price drop in Brazil. This Tuesday, the basic version with 128 GB of storage saw a reduction of 24.4%, going from R$ 8,599.00 to R$ 6,499.00.
The price difference between the iPhone 14 (2022) and the iPhone 13 (2021) could shrink, making the 2022 phone more appealing to consumers. The difference between the phones is in the cameras, which are more capable when it comes to taking videos and selfies. Otherwise, both phones are virtually identical and share the same A15 Bionic processor chip (from 2021).
