Meet Huawei's new devices. The devices are expected to feature 5G technology.

Huawei could launch a mid-range 5G phone as early as October, Chinese newspaper IT Times reported Tuesday, a sign that the tech giant has overcome US sanctions.

Starting in 2019, the US restricted the company's access to chipmaking tools essential to creating more advanced phones, allowing the company to launch only a limited batch of 5G models using the chips it already had in stock. Read on for more.

5G Cell Phone

Citing supply chain sources, IT Times reported that Huawei could launch a 5G version of its Nova smartphone in October or November. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment from IT Times, which is owned by state-owned China Telecom.

Last month, Huawei launched the smartphone “Mate 60 ProThe researchers said the chip, powered by a 5G-enabled, 7-nanometer processor made in China, turned out to be a breakthrough in China’s efforts to build a chip ecosystem. Huawei’s latest model, the “Nova,” is limited to 4G and sells in Japan for about 2,400 yuan (US$1,329), but the “Mate 60 Pro,” which has been released in limited quantities so far, sells for 6,999 yuan.

The company is expected to reveal more details about the Mate 60 Pro at a product launch event next week.

Huawei Foldable

Additionally, Huawei is already working on a new foldable phone to replace the Pocket S. According to a leak on Weibo, it will feature an upgraded secondary display, be thinner and lighter than its predecessor, and will support 5G.

As mentioned, the Chinese company recently introduced 5G to its Mate 60 series of smartphones for the first time since the US ban. The future trend is for this technology to be applied to more of the brand's devices.

The source did not provide any details about the upgrades, specifications, or design. Huawei’s latest foldable phone, the Pocket S, features a 6.9-inch internal display. It also comes with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 1.07B color display. It also has a 1.04-inch external display for fast action and is powered by a Snapdragon 778G 4G processor with up to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It features a triple-lens rear camera system with a 40MP main sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 13MP super macro sensor. The phone also packs a 10.7MP front-facing camera.

THE Huawei cell phone Pocket S is not yet available for sale in Brazil. If you want one of these phones, you should buy it through import websites. Another option is to follow the news about the brand to find out when the phone will arrive in Brazil. It is worth remembering that there is still no official confirmation from Huawei that the device will be sold in other countries. Therefore, those interested should hope that the company decides to bring the device to the country.
